This adventure had two versions: The free version given out for Free RPG Day June 23, 2007 by participating retailers; and a $2 version that was released commercially a couple of months later. The only difference between the two is the price on the cover in place of the "Free" inside the "star".

Even though the numbering places it after DCC #51 Castle Whiterock, this prequel to that box set was released in June of 2007 while Castle Whiterock was first released at Gencon 2007 in August.

The adventure contains three players' handouts (labeled "A", "B" and "C") on pages 15 & 16.
