Hi,

i've been digging thru stuff at home, trying to sort out whats mine, and whats coming to Indy :)

I have found 2 weird modules:

Behind the Rose by Sage Lore Productions 1992
Search for the Crystal Sword by Entertainment Concetps 1982

Anyone any info please, or idea of value?

Cheers,
malc

I'd expect you to get about $40 a shot if you placed them on eBay (don't know about GenCon) although Behind the Rose hasn't been up recently and the Silverdawn adventures (not D&D compatable, btw) have a small following of peeps trying to complete sets, and one or two newbie wouldbes who don't know what they are. So both could surprise you. Behind the Rose is a definate decent sale at GenCon (Painter was a good writer). Crystal Sword I'd probably place on eBay as the market of potentioal buyers is much smaller. Let us know how you get on. I'm always interested to find out how far from the mark I am.

I would put Behind the Rose in at about $25 these days at best.  It was rare until Sage Lore started dumping them on Ebay.  He has had these 4 copies listed for months now with no sales:

** expired/removed eBay auction **

As for the Silverdawn adventures, I seem to recall that they are D&D compatible including D&D type stats but would have to double check.  The past auctions for these typically equate to does Lance have a copy yet or not (and in this case I believe he bought Franks copy).  If Lance doesn't have one then there is a chance of the $100, if he does, then it is probably in the $40-$50 range.

Really!? Was that an aspirational name then? Who is Charlotte?
That explains how you completed your Sage Lore collection then.

I wish it was that easy to complete the Sage Lore stuff.  I did pick up a number of issues of The Scroll magazine from him but he doesn't even have a complete set.  I think the only other items were a copy of Small Town Shops and a new copy of Behind the Rose to replace my worn one.  I finally managed to get a copy of City Shops a month or two ago from a large lot of stuff on Ebay. Still looking or a few different printings though.

What's City Shops like? Been looking for that one for a long time now.

City Shops is not very exciting, it only provides some forms to keep the shop that you create in order.

Or Wintersfarne, Wyrd World, by Strange Acorn Games.

Cool name for a games company.

I think this one is a bit rarer than even Crystal Sword.  Tougher for the US audience to find since it is a UK item.  I can recall Crystal Sword up on Ebay a couple of times but Wintersfarne only once and that was years ago.

I would guess that most of the big bidders don't have a copy and would value it around the $120-$150

Didnt Greg Stafford sell one or two of the Strange Acorn mods about a year ago?  Can't recall if it was Wintersfarne or Wordesley.  Any thoughts on which one is rarer?

Those are the ones I remember - although it seems like a couple of years back in my mind now.

I think the second one, Wordesley, is harder to find.  I remember seeing the first one at least once on someone else's collection list and also remember seeing the first one for sale by itself as well.
