thank you Bracton for posting the pictures. i too was very pleased with the framing job that was done. i told the owner i wanted no adhesives on the map, so the four corners are resting inside triangular cups to support the map and then the matting and the backing boards are glued together (rather than to the map). i told him i have no intention of ever opening it up again in my lifetime, but i wanted no damage to the map at all. we were originally thinking that it was going to be hanging in our finished basement, so we decided to go with archival plexiglass as opposed to museum glass, so that if it was knocked off the wall by one of our children it wouldn't kill them. however after seeing how large it is framed, and what a good job the framers did, we've decided to hang it in the living room, opposite the frp wall.

The pictures themselves are outstanding documentary evidence.
