I got my first copy in a trade with McDuffie (now to try and find it).In searching though I found my extra copy of Exploiting Space (I'd been looking for this for a few months): Page not found | Pen & Paper NewsI had almost convinced myself I only had one copy - good to see I'm not going completely crazy - just need a slightly better filing system
lokiwookie wrote:If you have extra copies for sale/trade I could be interested (for Exploiting space and Wizard's World)Never heard about Exploiting Space before! Where do you find a copy? I have now a new obscure RPG to search
Mars wrote:Exploiting Space is a very obscure one. It was published in 1980 in a city about 40 km away from where I live - Guelph, Ontario, Canada. When I moved here, 7 years ago, I went through all the game stores and found 2 copies. I forget if it was originally posted on Pen & Paper or if it was in some correspondence when I tracked down the authors but I remember that only around 22 copies were ever sold and the rest were most likely pulped. The covers were coloured in by the artist by hand so each copy is slightly unique. Both extra copies of these are spoken for already though I do have an extra copy of Mythworld and the 3 adventures and Nimolee (also up for auction) if you are interested.

The boxed sets are a pretty good gaming value, since you get a city, personalities and an undercity map.Midkemia and Chaosium shared publishing on items like Tulan of the Isles and City, as well as some other Midkemia-related publications.According to Greg Stafford (founder of Chaosium), there was once a jolly age in which people were friends and who owned the rights to what was not so much an issue as publishing good items and enjoying the hobby business.

FormCritic wrote: Thieves World carries more literary weight because of the number of name authors who have added to the background. The setting is less attractive to me since it has a slight Asian feel to it...one has the feeling that the stories take place in Burma or a world where Asian themes have leaked over to Europe. (Rather like a Conan story, now that I think about it.)
mandalaymoon wrote:Wow, just piqued my interest. I had owned all the Thieves World stuff at one point but sold it without ever getting the chance to read it. Can you give me a better idea of the Asian feel to the setting before I go out and try repurchasing the stuff? Thanks!
The Thieves World stuff was all Chaosium, as I recall.
