great work on the wiki grubbiv, way beyond my limited computer knowledge! :)
I'm hoping to add items this weekend.
Hermit, out of curiosity, if I know details of an item currently not listed, can I add it without a scan/pic? I dont have a scanner unfortunately, and I'm not sure about my photo quality being uploaded...

Perfect timing grubbiv, I finally handed in my PhD thesis on 15 October - same day I flew back to Kabul. It means my days locked away here can now be spent on the wiki

Love the colleciton photo and statistics page!  :)

Ashmire - sure, you can create a page and just indicate that a scan is needed.

Greetings All.

Just to let you know I intend to focus my wiki work on the Auction tracker while I am in Kabul. If anyone is interested in monitoring the value of particular RPG lines, let me know.

While I have in excess on 200 more very interesting items to add to the wiki - I can only attend to this on my bi-monthly trips back to Australia!

Added material to the Ars Magica line. Surprised there was only one book there (the 2nd edition rulebook). I seem to have managed to incorporate it into the material I uploaded and set up for all 5 editions correctly.

Having one issue: All books are showing up in the 'Articles' page okay and the links work, but when shown under 'gallery' format, the links to the individual books are broken except the original 2E rulebook.

I can't see that I'm doing anything different than the 2E book. What am I missing?

It's due to page caching.  If you think a page is not showing the most current information, you can try hitting the "refresh" button at the top.  If you don't hit "refresh", the outdated page will expire from the cache in a day or so and the page will get updated then.

MediaWiki will automatically update a category page when an article is added to the category.  It will not update all the broken links to the article when the article is added, however.

While I was back in Oz the past two weeks, I took a stack of photos of items for the Wiki - but, dagnabit, I used a new camera and have a beautiful big yellow date and time across the bottom of my pictures. Does anyone know a simple way to remove dates from digital camera photos?

How do I delete and/or replace an uploaded image? Perhaps only admins can do that?

I uploaded the two incorrect images for a particular item, and I'd like to replace it with the correct images.

They're:

I think I can remove the images from the listing but I don't know about deleting them. If you upload replacements I think you just need to change their name.

I'll see about this now.

Yes. I believe only admin can delete images. I have deleted them for you.

Hermit, I have another MERP scan request for you:

Can you add scans for the credits page and page 65 (presumably one of two catalog pages) for your non-UPC version of Lorien?

And also add a scan of the content page for your UPC version?

http://wiki.acaeum.com/wiki/Lorien_and_ ... ven_Smiths

It has a surprising number of variations, and I think the extra info may unearth one or two more.

I'm going to add scans/info for the other known variations tomorrow.

Will do. I will be back with my collection next Monday!!!

The work you are doing on the wiki is great. I look forward to going back through my collection and cross checking print versions. I also have a fair few new items including MERP and Rolemaster items I haven't added yet.

Each game item has an 'About' tab. We should probably work up a description / history page for MERP. You could then link your 'ICE Printing Variation Release Dates' to that page.

Have uploaded scans for the the 2nd Print combat screen and UPC version of Lorien. The scans for the non-UPC version were actually sent to me by Simpering Toad.

Started going through my collection this evening. With my PhD, I stopped organising and cataloging my collection a couple of years ago. I have 576 items bagged and labelled - tonight I realised I have at least that many items again to study, grade etc. I need more time and a bigger house!
