Hi,

I have a 10th Anniversary Collector's Set in very good condition.  It does not have its shrinkwrap, but the modules where never used and probably taken out of the box only twice.  And, it's been sitting on a shelf for many years.

Does anyone know what I can expect to get for this on ebay?  I couldn't find any past auctions for this particular item.

Thanks!
Paul

I don't remember what the last one sold for, but it was at least over $700.00.

o.k., here are two pictures.  The dice bag hasn't been opened and the faux leather box is in great shape.

And, the modules have never been used.

Well taken photos, those. :)

IMHO that's looking better than the last set at $1,075 which was a bit warped, nibbled and with staple-rusted mods held in place by the rather unsightly remains of shrinkwrap. However, since the guide here is +50% for shrink regardless that still presumably equated to $700-ish + 50% and hence a virtually unchanged "value" on http://www.acaeum.com/ddindexes/rares.html .

To say your set is worth $400 less when both your box and (admittedly "standard") components are in obviously better condition, for the sake of a couple of inches of remaining shrinkwrap /just/ keeping (most of) the contents "sealed" is still a clear indication of madness in the market to me. :)

Good pictures, like the zoom in ability too.
in your first picture; It looks like the second module down from the top in the stack is wavy....

Anyway.... What Faro said.
No way that set sells for less than $700 (IMO).
NICE box and looks like the rest of the contents are in great condition.

However; I would take additional pictures though to show potential buyers.
All sides of the box and each modules front cover at the least.
Something like that is what the dozen pictures option on E-Bay is for.
Just my 2 coppers....

If I had the bucks to spend I would make an offer, unfortunately I do not.
I Do not think you will need it but Good luck. 8)

A grand give or take. Though this is not the best market per se.

Advertise all over the place when you load on ebay.

On a side note, I still beat myself up for not buying that stupid thing when it came out. I clearly remember taking a pass at GC. Hell, I already had all the modules so what good was it? Dumb ass...

I am pretty sure I was too busy blowing a load of cash at the Task Force Games booth on the newest SFB material and Champions stuff from Hero Games and tanks from GHQ and C-inC. Wow, what great investments they turned out to be! (of course, I was buying to play, but still...damn it all!). Every time I see one of these come up, I just get mad.

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

Hey Bill, shouldn't you have cleaned up on the Fazzlewoods and other Metro Detroit Gamers stuff too?

Thanks for everyone's feedback.  I really appreciate it.

I'll be putting this up on ebay this weekend.  I'll make sure to tell everyone through these forums.

For this item I would not even bother with a BIN, and (IMO) not even a Reserve.
Those E-Bay options just suck more money from the final amount you get to keep from all the other fess they will charge you, and this is one of those rare items that is guranteed to exceed expectations.

I would however, pay the small fee for the extra picture package with zoom and enlarged views for the buyers.
Those are well worth the small amount they cost.

If you host the pictures yourself or on a free 3rd party site, then you can link them into your auction for free.

How do you do that?
Just link it inside the description box somehow?
Would that also put the picture into the spot showing on E-Bay before a bidder opens the page to the listing?

As an example:

** expired eBay auction **

I upload one copy of the picture to Ebay from my PC (for free) so it will show up as thumbnail beside the listing and in their special picture box where you can enlarge it a bit.

In the body of the listing I use the HTML code:

<IMG SRC="http://www.cs.uwaterloo.ca/~mdtpetri/ebay/badges.jpg">

to specify the location of the picture hosted somewhere else.  You can do this for as many pictures as you want for free.  And they are loaded into your listing at full size (not autoshrunk by Ebay).
