Nyah, again? ;)

Mhmm... Doug has what was one of the best #1s I'd seen up for sale.
I was just a bit wary that Mark's $1,120 had already been rounded down to $1,000 and then you added "for Mint", since that might've resulted in ~$500 offers for merely "Good" copies when that isn't much more than what these would've sold for over here 20-25 years ago.

Erm, true... :o

(Thankfully Allan/grodog saved the staple-less copies from that fate :))

My R's are all in used condition; R1 even has highlighting inside.  But I can't complain at $1 each from the used section of a (relatively local) gamestore - glad I got there before Davidc started collecting ;)

Lol, now I'm probably your best customer :)

@Bill: for fun let's see how we're doing against those below. Shouldn't fare too badly, hopefully, since they were hand-picked copies from what should've been the largest retailer in the UK at the time and stacked away for 30 years +/- . #7's the least good copy, fwiw, along with a couple of the run of Strategic Reviews that go with these.
I'll add the links for the higher res versions if you might wish to compare crease for crease. :)

@Gnat: ...was what I'd meant 'bout Mark's $1,120 (already a bit down from current "list"), rounding that down mentally to $1,000 and then someone taking that as "Mint" per your comment and aiming for similar to those below at ~$850-875, say. Might be a long wait at that unless very lucky... :?

Wouldn't mind a larger scanner... trimmed right-hand sides are a pain. Take as better than the left-hand sides, anyhow; e.g.

No color adjustments, etc., on any of these, fwiw.

#14 sold from the shelf with mailing wrapper (in the UK, yeah...): not tearing that off, sorry!

Faro, that is one of the nicest collections of Dragon Mag 1-30 I have ever seen.
Especially Issue Number 4!
The red portion seems to be faded in most examples I have seen.

Nice collection!

#31-40 $8 each
#41-50 $6 each

I sold several early Dragons lately:

#1 Poor $90.00

** expired/removed eBay auction **

#1 Fine $178.51

** expired/removed eBay auction **

#2 Fine $118.13

** expired/removed eBay auction **

#4 Fine $46.00

** expired/removed eBay auction **

#6 Fine $50.00

** expired/removed eBay auction **

#7 Good to Very Good $11.00

** expired/removed eBay auction **

#8 Fine to Very Fine $27.01

** expired/removed eBay auction **

#16 Good to Very Good $20.89

I believe I did well on these sales except for issue #7 which was mislabeled.

Possibly the best price of the bundle and a positive result from describing all faults rather than merely a catch-all grade: unrelated name on the cover, scuffing and creasing, tiny rust stain, small tears, paper clip/rust marks, smell of smoke and (presumably?) slight aging if that's the same as the #1 would combine to give a wide range of grades depending on how harsh one is.

Not so easy to "complain" about such differences of approach if that's all spelled out, though. :)

Yes, I had no complaints from any buyers or any other Dragons I've sold for that matter.  I believe I graded better than most Dragons I've bought.  :eye:

Here's a decent-looking Dragon #10 but at an inflated price.

** expired/removed eBay auction **

Still, I wouldn't be surprised if it sold.  8)

I think you might well be right. ;)
Price ain't that bad, IMHO, for a complete copy which looks very good from the front (even with creasing flooded out by that flash). Unmentioned staple rust transfer, however, might well put some people off.
