Not necessarily looking for an appraisal, but identification.

I picked up a decent-sized stack of uncut cards for some kind of game.  Does anyone know what these are from?  They might be for a homemade game? There are various sheets of cards (on white, blue and pink cardstock) with Roman numerals ranging from I - X.

Thanks!

Turns out - I figured it out - I think.  In case anyone is still looking in on this AND curious, it *appears* they go with Costley and Willis' T.H.E. Non-Player Character Book.

Yes, that sounds right to me.  I can dig out my copy if you need a page count.

It never ceases to amaze me how much "obscure" stuff you have in your collection.  :P

LOL, sometime soon I need to get a list together to get an appraisal done for insurance purposes so I can share a list then.  But there really is a ton of obscure small press stuff out there - and different printings of it too.

My T.H.E. Non-Player Character and T.H.E. Fighter do not have a cardstock sheets with the text shown above.  Here's a scan of the front covers:

My T.H.E. NPC has photocopies (possibly not original) of some tables, and my T.H.E. Fighter has a blue cardstock pages with complex flowcharts and tables.

Is the pink sheet from an earlier version of T.H.E. NPC or another book in the T.H.E. series?

Yes, the pink sheet and another hundred sheets are part of the first print - before it was Martian Game Modules.  The original version was also letter size not digest.

Thanks!  I did not know the history of the T.H.E. line.

I've only seen 3 or 4 of the 1st prints go through Ebay compared with maybe 20 copies of the later print (Noble Knight also has the later prints) so they are a lot more scarce.

I didn't know about them until I saw one for the first time and bought it (just the booklet) then found there was suppose to be a stack of cardstock sheets.  I ended up picking up a second complete copy.

That I don't know but would be interested to find out.  If so, I wonder if concepts from these books were ever moved into any of the Chaosium books (similar to Midkemia Press).

EDIT: I sent a quick email to Charlie over at Chaosium to see if he knows.

Hey Mark, did you get any reply from Charlie yet?
Maybe you could ask Greg Stafford in the Q&A thread here somewhere.

Don't give up on a reply. He has probably been extra busy since Dustin Wright closed down his office in Denver and moved his family to Houston to look for work.
