I am thinking of getting into Merp collecting so this auction caught my eye.

Is there something in here driving the price?

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

The softcover rulebook and the creatures of middle earth can both be had fairly cheaply ($5-10 each).

Not sure what the ebay question regarding the number of pages in creatures is about. Maybe there's some printing variation I'm not aware of. Anyway...

Arnor and Angmar aren't worth very much unless they both include the relevant maps. Maybe $10 in that mediocre condition each without maps. I wouldn't pay more than roughly $50 and $30 or more respectively if they include the maps. Others may pay more...

Angmar is tough to find. Took me a long time to get that printing; it usually goes pretty high.
I'm going to be putting up my MERP in the near future. I'll post a link to it when I do. It's pretty complete as far as 1st and 2nd editions.

If you hit a Rowsdower, you get to keep it.

Arnor should have a fold out map. The last one I saw on Ebay sold for $62.00

** expired/removed eBay auction **

Angmar should also come with a map. The last one I saw on Ebay sold for $62.50

** expired/removed eBay auction **

The other two books are quite common and average $10-$15

Check out the price monitoring on the Acaeum Wiki. 2nd edition MERP is pretty strong at the moment:

You gotta remember, those 2nd edition MERP books sold NEW for $25-$35 each.  So a bump to $30 15 years later isn't too shocking.

And yes they are very hard to find with the color maps included.

Seller responded and they are missing all the maps.

I don't know much about MERP but the maps seem to be a huge factor in price.  I picked up a copy of The Shire (missing maps) earlier in the summer for $15.50 (that was also promoted here).

The recent auctions for copies with the maps are $98 and $122 with current BIN auctions of $180 and $225 for copies with maps and $81 for a copy without.

In France the Shire never gone for more than 30€ ($40). I bought a copy for 15€...

In fact, most of MERP stuff is very cheap in France (but some of the french books are very expensive though, as "les ruines hantées des Dunéens" (Haunted ruins...))

Now I know that you will look closely to ebay.fr ;)

I have only bought once or twice from France - shipping to Australia is a killer!
