Hi, I wasn't sure if to post this here on in the Non-TSR thread, but I have a huge amount of minis from the late 80's to mid90's, all from Citadel UK.

I see that Ral Partha appear popular on here and various sales via eBay, so wondered if there is much of a market for painted old minis?

Or is it a case of 'old/original' minis that are still sealed? All mine have been painted by my own fair hand (before age, weak eyesight and shakes took hold   ) and have typically been varnished/lacquered and the later ones have textured bases.

Are there any Citadel minis that are sought after?

Cheers
Dave

I think a lot of the prices have to do with the lines being official AD&D miniatures.

Right... I doubt I'd know now as they are all package free. I'm guessing they are official as I only bought the Citadel 'slotta' base models as I always found they were the best manufactured...

The other thing that seems to help the Ral Partha minis is the specific campaign setting they belong to - dragonlance minis seem to do well.

There are definitely some that sell well:  the Eternal Champion lines seems to do well (although spottily so---sometimes they're high, sometimes they're not), and I've seen various pre-slotta Citadel do well too.  I don't follow the slotta Citadels other than the ECs much at all, so someone else will have to chime in with more details.

Original chaos dwarves are worth a few bucks, thrud minis, most heroes (if they are OOP) the large ones like the  big giant and chicken dragon are very valuable.  Most of the RPG minis are not so valuable when compared to the ral partha 11 series.

All do have value though, there is a huge citadel collecting community out there (check out the minis page) only thing is that there are lots of them to be had.  In the package will always net you more.  Loose run of the mill minis are generally worth $3-10 each if in good shape.

I'm interested in specific lines of Citadel miniatures, if they're for Warhammer Quest, Talisman, and Blood Bowl -- otherwise, I don't really care.

Those who can, don't. Those who should not, do.

thanks for the comments... I have a couple of old school blood bowl players if they are of interest.
I'd have to have a look see what they are, but certainly elven players and an ogre with large Chaos Death Spiky bits!
