I have three:

A 1st print in VG+ condition that I got from BClakie... and paid for the privilege of owning it.
A 2nd/3rd print that I just got in a lot for pretty cheap. This is in Good condition, it's bit worn... corners bent... spines possibly near failure.
A 4th print that is in VG+ to Fine condition that I've had for a while.

I'm thinking about putting one up on eBay to free up some cash. I'm inclined to keep the earlier two but I will be using one of them to game with and will surely wear it out over time. I feel like the 4th print will hold up the best but the 3rd is taller, neater and cooler in general.

Which would garner the most cash, which will hold up the best which will bring me the most gaming joy?

I dunno. Help me decide what to do.

I sold a GC 5th print for $4 a while back... but paid over $40 for the 1st print...

I guess that's the range.

Might not be worth parting with huh?

I would not easily part with a minty complete First Print DMs Screen.
And I had no idea what its value was either. 8O
Even at that price, I doubt I would sell mine (If I had one).

The others?
I would use those and keep the First Print minty in the collection.

In fact I DO have a later version DM Screen and I use it every time we play D&D, or C&C. 8)
I love those things.

I'll never part with the 1st but will consider letting one of the others go for a decent price (read: more than $4). I'm basically trying to figure out which one to sell. The 4th is in nice shape and might hold up better over time. I wouldn't feel to bad about abusing it. The 2nd/3rd if a little beat and might eventually "give-up-the-ghost" but I think might bring in more cash as somebody else would not be using it for everyday gaming. However it is taller and just sorta cooler to use. I would feel more yummy using it at our games... but would feel the need to baby it more.

The first is cool but having the EO art for my players to look at is key. ;)

The 2nd Printing (and later) I have usually ended up getting because they throw it in with a lot of items like hardcover books, or a bunch of modules. The 1st Printing is the only one I've seen (generally) sell without other goodies...

Less than $10.00 though...

The bottom line for me is to do what you want.

But since you are seeking advice, I'll just tell you what I'd do.  Sell the most valuable screens and keep the least valuable screen.  If the least valuable does what you need it to do, then the others are just barely increasing in value and waiting for an accident to happen(mold, mildew, fire, bugs, kids, food spill, whatever).  Turn the valuable ones into cash and invest it something else you want more or invest it in investments which earn even more money.  I never hang onto something to impress others.  And that's what I'd do. 8)

Thnaks... the 1st stays locked up with my other collectibles. I'm just torn. Sell the 3rd or the 4th?

The one I keep will get used heavily...

Sell neither. Use the hell out of both. DM Screens, if you use them, are always in demand at the table.

That's really odd, I've just had a look at the reference pages here about the screens and none of mine look like that (from memory...)

Going to have to dig them out now for a look see... Unless the UK ones differ to US?? :?

the later printings are worth about the same. But there are collectors out there who are looking to fill that particular printing. Which ever you list, be sure to include the printing information. It is key. I have sold lots of them. Checking my poorly maintained data base, the fourths do better than thirds.

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

Interesting... My 4th is in pretty nice shape. Would it be outrageous to list it say for $20-25?

I'm in a phase now where I don't need to move stuff but don't need or want more than 2 printings of stuff... so I'm willing to wait to get a premium.

Might be a bit too high. Probably could hit $15 if in really nice shape. Maybe a $19 bin if it is excellent +

Been wanting to put a minty fresh 1st Print in my ebay store, but was not sure about pricing. Is that price quote closer for a decent conditioned one or for a very nice clean one?
