Would appreciate an appraisal of the above Metamorphosis Alpha which I have.

I have seen the 1st come up on ebay, but not the 2nd.

Thanks very much.

2nd prints are out there.  I picked up one not too long ago for under $30:

But in general MAs are going for $50-75, if they're in good shape.

The market on these has been down somewhat for the last year or so.  I haven't seen many in the $75 range lately.  Most have been more in the $40-$50 range.

Even the last one on Ebay didn't quite hit $50:

Thanks for the info.

I actually thought mine was a 1st Edition until today, when I found my way to tomeoftreasures and realised that there were two editions of the 3001, and I see that the second edition was posted by Mars!

Had not done my research too thoroughly on this one.

I just won a copy of the SF18-R version (not sure if it's 1st printing or not) for $28.

It's prolly pretty banged up but looks good to VG from the photos. Seller says it has some highlighting.

I've just wanted one for so long...

Two others went for less than $40 and one just went for $57.

The SF18-R are the 1st print versions.  The price range for the last while seems to be in the $40-$50 range for reasonably good copies.  I'm sure a nice minty copy would go higher.

I forgot to follow up with this one. the Seller never shipped mine as he thought I was scamming him or something... He got his story all mixed up and I realized he was probably just bummed it sold for so little. Not sure if I should sell him out here but if you are concerned PM me and I'll give you his ID just to be safe.

So, I just picked up a pretty beat one (missing page 29/30) for $15... just so I could finally see one. It's not a SF18-R version though.

Everytime I go looking I usually end up seeing the SF18-R version, I think it might be the most common.  Assuming there are only 3 prints, I would guess the 2nd print is the rarest.
