Just looking for some general opinions on the value of the following items, good condition, read once, non-smoking home:

Drangonlance, Forgotten Realms, Ravenloft, Dark Sun, Greyhawk, Spelljammer, and Al-Qadin novels.

Note that these are not the rpg materials, but the novels.  Just wondering what the average price per book would be and the best avenue to sell them (ie here or via the new and improved ebay).  Thanks.

Most of the paperbacks are in endless reprints.  A few have value like Ravenloft King of the dead.  I sold some at got $4-$6 each.  Hardcovers go for more, virtaully all sell for less than retail.  Sell on Ebay.

Except for for a few rare ones: Lord of the Necropolis, King of the Dead, The Ultimate Helm, The Dragonlance Villains series, (particularly Lord  Toade), and the Double Diamond triangle series, the novels are only worth a couple bucks each.  You would have the best luck selling them in sets, like all the Dragonlance preludes, all the Spelljammer, etc.  The ones I mentioned do well individually, the Double Diamond series can get you $50 if complete (hard to find, never reprinted).

Never heard of any Al-Qadim novels?

Mikes on the money... I'm looking for quite a few series, I haven't bought any for a long long time... also parts of series as well...

There are some Al-Qadmin pick-a-path type books...

Really? The God-awful Double Diamond series?  8O

I tossed mine years ago (not the full set, but I had most of them) after they made my eyes bleed one too many times. And now you tell me the damn things actually sell? Damnit!

They were so bad, they were never collected and reprinted....so they are possibly the hardest TSR series to find (certainly the hardest Forgotten Realms series to find).  The last complete set I sold went for $65....! As is the case oft times for collectibles, it's not the quality, but the scarcity that makes it so (ST1, anyone?)
