As a case in point, no one listed any of the Role Aids in their Top 5 Non-TSR rares as either owning or wanted in the thread we had a little while back.

When they sold off their remaining D&D backstock a couple years ago, I picked mine up in person at their Skokie (Chicago) office.

They're at GenCon every year.

They do board and card games now (Settlers of Catan) - I give a solid recommendation on Pompeii and Domaine. No RPG products since the old days.

I never got around to it, but Kobold Hall is on my top 5 list.

I actually played in it and forgot to buy one. Been looking ever since.

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

I don't consider them to be particularly rare, any of them. They make for good reading though. But I wouldn't consider any of them to be among my valued rares, although before I had them, I would have listed Beastmaker Mountain, Blasted Lands and Kobold Hall as items I was very much seeking. So they probably would have appeard on my Want List if I didn't already have then, but now that I've got them, they don't appear highly on my most appreciated list.

For a lot of people these are unknown entities (and therefor hard to be considered sought after), so threads like this open peoples eyes (momentarily).

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

Sounds like I got a deal for $20 for all 5. I was familiar with the Role Aids softcover books, but never saw the folder ones. They seemed too good to pass up (I figured the Origins module was rare).

By the way, the Sales sheet with BL has reddish ink, fwiw.

What was DALLCON?

Dallcon was a convention in the 80s in Dallas....but darned if I remember it. I want to say it was the same year Origins was in DFW (1984?)

I called them the other day and they said all of their role aids stuff was gone.

LOL. I got distracted by looking at Dawnworld again and must have skipped over your second list.

I don't have Nanorien. What do you like about it? I have a Fez and Beastmaker and think they are pretty average all around.

What's not to like about it? Pretty sky blue folder, nice artwork, crisp white pages. Oh, you mean the actual adventure? :wink:

It's been a couple of years since I read it....I would have to go back over it again to give you any details. And I dont always equate my appreciation of an adventure to its actual playability or plot. If that was the case, Palace of the Vampire Queen would be at the bottom of any list for me.

Why not? Does anyone remember the numbers printed of each(besides Kobold Hall and Blasted Land obviously)? Seems to me that these things dont come up very often, especially in decent condition. Most of them have torn folders or are missing them completely. And rarely do they have their inserts.

Did I say that? Maybe not but I very well could have. The main reason that I haven't picked up most of these is that I don't feel the urgency when the auctions show up.

In comparison with other small press items, the Mayfair tournaments border between uncommon and rare. Anyone have any doubts that more copies will show up on Ebay? Within the next year or so? Their price doesn't reflect rarity so much as it reflects supply/demand. They have a much larger following than most small press items.
