I got almost my entire collection for face value.  Of course it was new then.  Does that still count?

You were very fortunate to be around during the time the products came out and were able to buy them retail. However, even then $3 a item was considered a lot of money so I guess things work themselves out.

Hey all,  Just walked out of a used bookstore with H2 The Mines of Bloodstone EX/NM for $2 with free shipping. :D   It is good to see the Ebay market is relaxing pricewise on this series these days.  Adam

I can beat that,  back when H2 was selling for $30, I picked up one at a second hand store for $0.11.  They charged me the price of a magazine.  :D

hmm not sure if this is a cheap price but I have just bought a lot of 40+ misc non tsr books, magazines, etc for $185. I think its a fair price considering I am getting lots of neat goodies :-)

To add to the recent H-series thrifty purchases, I just picked up both H2 and H4 (in excellent condition) at my local game shop for $20 Canadian - at the current exchange rate, that's about $12.75 US.  Why does this series go for so much on eBay? They don't seem to be particularly uncommon, and the guy who owns the shop is fairly sharp (I know he uses the Acaeum to price 1E material).

Might I refer this to a new topic?

Interesting thread.  My best purchases that I can think of right now are all Wee Warriors titles - later prints of Vampire Queen and Dwarven Glory for $2 each (on rec.games.frp.marketplace) and Dragonlord for $5 (on eBay).  By the way, anyone have an idea how much Dragonlord is worth (though it's not a D&D item)?  I sold it already for a guesstimate price, but it's always nice to know.

8O  8O  8O That is an awesome DEAL!!!! Finding deals like that now is like finding a needle in a haystack!  I too would like to find out what dragonlord is possibly worth. Trevor Dewey needs to come on here and give us his input as he was looking for it long ago on the newsgroup
