Al —

I thought you would probably count yourself lucky to get out at $75 for punched ... and three figures wouldn't be unheard-of.

And unpunched? Prepare to open up your wallet — $150 to $225 is not out of the realm of possibility.

+++++

BTW, there's a decent open-source version of the game available for download. Java-based, I believe.

I am guessing the $75 was punched and $150 is still unpunched. If so I would say those are right but the $75 would be really , really lucky. I am thinking these might become regular $100 items if complete and in solid shape.

Uh ... I think we're saying the same thing, right?

Two examples:

Punched, plus Titan-themed issue of the General, $73

I've been looking for a playable copy of Titan for awhile; the gatorgames copy has been relisted, it didn't meet their reserve the first time around, which seemed to have been pretty high given that the box is thrashed.

In general, I wouldn't expect that particular copy to go above $80, but unpunched copies hit $80-140 regularly if they're in otherwise good shape.  Shink goes for $180-260-ish.  The Gorgonstar copies sell for at least $180, generally $350+ if both sets are together.

Gator Games of Belmont, Calif.? If so, that's my favorite brick-and-mortar store of all time ... I didn't even realize they were messing around on eBay.

That's them.  They're my least favorite of all Bay Area stores, primarily because they're so incompetent about how they handle OOP stuff:  they regularly have crappy copies of common Companion modules for $25, while they never bother to get around to going through their backstock and pricing it; I asked for prices on some items in their back rooms that had "just come in" well-over three years ago and they just never got around to it

Then, to top it off, I had signed up for their "on the lookout" lists for various games, including Titan, and they didn't bother to contact me before listing it on eBay

Le sigh.

I guess I don't have much to compare them to, having grown up in — and now returned to — Reno, which is not a mecca for the hobby.

For example, I can currently shop at this many local gaming stores:

... uh ...

let's see, carry the 2, divide by Pi ...

... hmm

NONE. :)

To me, Gator Games is heaven on earth.

[inside joke alert]

And how about those Gator Games owners, huh?      :)

I'm not sure we even want to go down that road ... we'd be banned in the flyover states for sure. :)

[/end inside joke; return to thread]
