Kaskoid wrote:Just what are the comparison points? I used your group's description and another site called Tome of Treasues. I think it's the real deal. Two pages are written on--two of my old characters. And I have extra loose pages and the second back cover with the reference to TSR. This is most likely the one they sent to TSR for "approval"; I did that kind of stuff (a big bunch of Judges Guild stuff) for a couple of years as we tried to keep D&D relatively on one track and sort of "pure".

I also have what I believe is a set of pre-rolled characters used in Tournaments. We would make up a group of twelve ready-mades, and the contesting teams used the (usually) nine they wanted.

The two pages with your old characters on them should raise the price rather than lower it.   8O

Wow, THE Tim Kask. I sent you years ago an interview, but I never got a reply because you wrote me you were busy at the moment. Is there any chance to complete that? :D

Sotterreano-- Finished my Masters. But dude, what you sent me is a like a whole bunch of WORK...

I'll answer questions, no sweat, but what you sent is like pages and pages of typing. To be quite honest, I don't have any need for ego-boo at this stage of my life.

The fact that people want to know what I did, or thought, or think is gratifying, and I modestly thank them all, but I never did have an ego problem when I did THE DRAGON; I did not care one bit if the readers agreed with something I published. What gave me my rush was thinking of how I was reaching into tens of thousands of heads and making people THINK! I figured if I had massaged their grey matter a little, I had met my goal.

I never saw myself as THE Tim Kask, just me. I have grown children, I have four grandchildren, a wonderful wife of almost 36 years, and I'm teaching Social Studies (read HISTORY). I'm heavily into Age of Wonders:Shadow Magic doing what used to be called re-development and writing all sorts of stuff for the Mod. Life is good. Sorry, I'm not crowing, just stating fact.

I say stick the stuff on eBay. Take good big pictures (don't use eBay's inhouse picture thingy) and run with the 'from the collection of Tim Kask... breif FRP resume', and that should be enough of a boost to get good prices.

If you want extra publicity, post in the classifieds here (with a link to the eBay listings) and also on Dragonsfoot (www.dragonsfoot.org).

If you have old manuscripts, or unpublished articles, those will be premium items. You'd need good descriptions, enough to give a flavour of the content.

Welcome, and I look forward to the show.  :D

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

I will provide digital pics this Saturday. I will send pics of everything, or just what is interesting to anybody.

You will need to have WinZip or WinRar if you want the whole lot. or have broadband. To get GOOD pictures, they are going to have to be fairly dense, and hence, large files.

I have reason to believe that I may enjoy the next couple of weeks. Maybe I can pay off some of the student loans I've had to take the last 2.5 years while I got my Masters.

I have a favor to ask:

I have no idea what ever happened to my old CHAINMAILS.

The only bit I'm interested in is the Jousting charts. I want to use them in History classes; I have developed an RPG for History teachers to use that has gotten some very positive feedback.

Can someone send me one copy of just those charts? I am allowed educational use, so you won't be doing anything hinky...

Thanks Lordan, I'll look for it.

Just found some more stuff. Dragons 64 & 70
The Curse on Hareth by The Companions  still in shrinkwrap(mostly).
Dungeon Floors by Heritage USA. In box, box intact and not torn, just "smooshed" a bit.

I think I'm about dug out... and I owe about $16K. I went to a very expensive college to get it.

But, I have pounds and pounds of old unpainted lead fantasy figures...

I sure don't want to use them as sinkers when I'm bass fishing...

Do your students know your past, Mr. Kask?
