Hi everyone. First I'd like to thank the person from another site who pointed me in the direction of this forum (smile). Second, I just put up an item in the sales forum but I'm not sure the pricing is "ok"...

I am selling it for my godfather who typically sells a few of his collectibles around this time of year for Yule money... having said that, I tried to research the boxed set as best I could and THINK it's total value is around $225 conservatively... but, I would really appreciate other people's opinions so that I do right by this fellow (who, by the way, has a ton of D&D books he's talking about next!)

Any help you all can be is much appreciated. Here's the description:

:)  Yeah, he's the master.  But of course without pictures, he's just guessing, anyway.

no ability - have to borrow a digital from someone. But the books are pristine . the box shows no creasing and only a little darkening at the edges. If there are specific questions - just ask... (sorry!)

Check out this thread TT:

Research question: OD&D Supplements :)

Maybe help to state what version of books you have.

Well here's the information from our local expert (smile - thanks again):

Yes, 5th printing as expected :)
Can usually tell from the shades of red/green/blue on the covers of the books, even without knowing the contents (other Tolkien references still present, but no $3.50 cover price on each volume).

The contents do indeed look very fresh: especially unusual for 5th print books, but the supplements are very good, too, even if they're relatively late printings.

Unfortunately the discoloration of the box lid is fairly noticeable. More likely from damp reacting with the gum used in the box construction than from any staining, even though I cannot see much in the way of foxing.
(I can see very light creasing and bumping around the edges but otherwise that's about as good as it gets).

Your $160 asking price is still fairly reasonable, I think.
