Hey Aneoth,
When you decide to unload those babies, drop me a line!  :D

Yes, as a matter of fact I am looking to unload my football card and football memorabilia collecton. 99.9% of the collection is Professional football. Very little of anything else. Although I do have a couple of boxes of baseball cards..... they are toss ins, nothing special.
As Mike said, I do indeed have more football stuff than RPG stuff, especially since last Saturday evening.......

I have tens of thousands of Pro football cards and hundreds of other items. The cards alone would easily fill the bed of any full sized pick up truck and then some.....

Like most card collectors, I began collecting football cards as a child, whenever I had a few cents from my allowance to spend, I would buy gum wrappers with football cards here and there. I treated them pretty well for the most part and I still have many of them to this day and a few of them are even in real nice condition.

However, most of my football card collection came from one large purchase. Several years ago, I acquired what was left of a card/comics stores stock. The store was shutting down and had so many things left that I simply made an offer for all the money I had at that time. They took the offer and not long afterwards, I re-sold most (About 3/4) of that stock to another cards/comics store owner for more than the total of the stock cost me, and I was able to keep most of the specific stuff that I wanted. Unfortunately, most of what I did not want was old Original Issue Magic Cards.  8O  8O

   Looking back, I should have kept them too.

Anyway, since then I have continued to collect football cards and memorabilia. Most of the memorabilia is ‘officially authenticated', which for some collectors means little if anything, but other collectors think it means a lot.

A very close guess.... 8O

I'm in about the same boat...difference being...I could care less...the 'ship is about at its end.  In fact, I am adding more and more to my collection and searching for increasingly more rare and expensive items.  Crap...I am the only one that knows how to save money and budget.  I do not say  much about the closetS full of clothes and shoes or the unnecessarily expensive SUV in the garage, or the parties...etc...etc....I figure its my due...she don't like it...she can get the f*$& out!!!

Is the posting of the ST1 thread, and the sale of the Aneoth collection shortly thereafter related perhaps? A pre-emptive freeing up of funds for the battle mayhaps?

Dunno, but it has gone very quiet around here!

*waves to Jon* (have seen you pop round from time-to-time, though ;))

John be not discouraged. There are many among us who have sniping software and they are absolutley NOT afraid to use it...........

So; a slightly tatty GW G3 is worth more than a SW'd GW G2, huh, John?
Well, I s'pose that balanced out since all three were bought by aneoth. ^^

I've been trying to find this message all day.

£50 seems like all the money for GW G1/2/3.  But they have been a bit thin on the ground recently.  Maybe this will smoke out a few more.

Heh. The price "drop" on the "standard" Gs hasn't helped, perhaps?
And that the UK mods aren't listed separately on the main chart...
Would still make sense to do so, IMHO, but have been nudging on that, etc., for some time.

They're certainly scarce enough in very fine or better condition (with/without SW! :P)

aside: Out of interest, when's the last time you saw a decent set of UK Ds?

Apart from the copies on my shelf...none for quite a while.

Maybe a testament to how many got played and read.  Who on earth would have thought someone might want to collect them?!?

*nods*. Maybe us Brits used all those purchases a bit more, too, having had to fork out rather more $ for the purchases in the first place.

Hrmm... thx for the confirmation, John.
Yeah, should have one very fine set of UK Ds here ("somewhere", as ever!) and was making a point to pounce another decent set should they come by at a half-way sensible price.
Certainly can't remember that happening, last year or so; nor even that anyone (i.e. yourself) pointed out when I might've missed some.
Maybe I need to look harder...

Must check what I've got here.  I never bought one at the time.  I've got a feeling all my copies are 3rd printings.

Every one is a 3rd printing... *jk*
OK; but not far off that!

Really can't understand how that might've worked out, IRL; and, unfortunately, I don't think the printing dates actually help much to untangle what went on with those print runs.
3rd prints are certainly very scarce if near minty, but otherwise... *shrugs and walks across the room to kick the stack; walking back again to the keyboard*
(well, ya know...)

Heh. Someone commented that my estimates were high-ish: personally, $125 for a XF/NM 2nd print and $150 for a XF/NM 1st print (or whatever it was I wrote down *g*) still seems quite reasonable, IMHO.
*sticks finger in the air again*

Well the 3rd is OK.

And the 1st looks OK on initial inspection...

But pick it up, open the cover and see what happens :?

The usual problem with the GW softcovers after repeated use.

The yellow marks are where someone had fixed some additional info to the inside of the cover using masking tape.
