This post is for the members with a certain background on these boards.

Do you remember several years ago that the fellow RC Pinnell used to sell his 1E modules here? They used to be with a very small print run and somehow linked together so that you could have a full campaign. Some of them were also signed and some even numbered.

Have you got any piece of info about their potential value? Some time after the sale by the author (they used to come in the range of 20 bucks each iirc), i spotted them going for above 100 usd on ebay... After that i never heard anymore of them...

Any input is really appreciated!

Thanks and ciaooo

No idea on the value, but the author's Acaeum handle is "Thork N Hammer".  He hasn't visited in a while but you could try to reach out to him.

I've purchased a few items from RC.  In 2012 he did a limited printing of a couple that were based in San Gropia: The Sea Maiden Of San Gropia Games Supplement and Swamp Girl Adventure.  There were 30 numbered and signed of each printed.

He also produced a Giant Series, which was an expansion of the TSR Giant Series, G1-2-3.

Picked up the following:

BB1 - The Pearl of Pirates Cove
G4 - Sanctum of the Stone Giant Lord, 1st Anniversary Edition
G4B/GS1 - The Sanctum of the Stone Giant Lord
G5 - Curse of the Cloud Giant Queen
G6 - The Forge of the Fomoroian Smith Lord
G7 - Giants in the Deep
G8 - Manor of the Mountain Giant King
G9 - Secret of the Swamp Giant Steward

I purchased the printed versions of these through Lulu when he had them available in 2011.

The only other Giant Series one that I'm aware of was a compilation called "G4-5-6-7-8-9 + Super Giant Adventure".

RC did publish some additional books for D&D and AD&D.  There's a good list of them here:

R. C. Pinnell Product Listing - RPGnet  RPG Game Index

As far as pricing is concerned, I haven't seen many of them come up for sale.  A lot of the giant series adventures sold a while ago for a decent amount, but I don't recall what the final number was, but they didn't sell for cheap.

He used to be a regular contributor on Dragonsfoot.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

Ugh, must have missed when those were available.  Would have liked to have snagged some of those limited printings!

Was Daughters of the Deep a San Gropia adventure?

Oh, I have never heard about these french versions !
Do you know if these translations were made with approbation of RC Pinnel or if they are just the work of a fan ?
Is there the name of the person who did the translation ?
Yes, I know, I'm curious ^^

EDIT: well, I found the answer inside this forum ^^

Yes, that forum post would explain it much better than I could :)  It reminded me that this was a limited print edition of 25, both of these are #11. I updated the description to reflect this.

Thanks,
Jorge

These are both beautiful productions. I’m surprised no bids yet, I’d highly recommend them - great place to start a non-English rpg collection :)

I draw the line at collecting... D&D beach towels.

Shoulda been: ".. from Pangreenia to Floratopolis, from mystical Treeonia of spectral Forests to Schruborial dimensions." - The Forests of Leng

But David, why should anyone bid before there are 10 seconds left...all it does is drive up the price.

I was actually wondering this with the current lack of bids on the PotVQ.

Right, auction theory!

I’ve missed many an auction forgetting or lagging during the ten second window. Fortune favours the bold :)

Particularly those who are bold enough to message the seller and offer them £50 to stiff the auction winner (re. the recent L3 debacle.)
Besides, whatever happened to those auto-snipe programs that do the last second bidding for you. Do those still exist?

Yep. I still use them. Very handy when an auction is ending when I should be working. Or sleeping.
