Monster Manual Printing Glitch

I received an AD&D monster manual for Christmas, First Edition, 5th printing; 1979 I was scrolling through it and where page 81 should start I have page 112 and then it progresses  backwards to page 81, then I see another page 81 and then continues forward to the end of the book.  So essentially there are 20 pages in the middle of the book that shouldn’t be there. Anyone ever heard of this glitch?

Yeah.

It's a rarer misprint that could be worth extra money to the right collector. They usually get pulped by QC.
Other than that, it is as rare as whichever printing it happens to be.

Not really easy to appraise, but it could be worth more than a typical copy to some collectors as an oddity.  If not disclosed, it's typically a huge disappointment for the purchaser.

Misprints happened occasionally, and other than a few exceptions, they are usually not desirable, especially if the item is missing original content.

Thanks, planning on keeping it, just curious. I think it's pretty cool....it's like a mirror image spell!

Sounds like the "Men & Monsters" I picked up with the "Dungeon Hobby Shop" original price sticker on the front cover!
