Such as:

I have yet to see one for sale, but you should check out these pages if you haven't already -

Thanks! I have checked both. But of course no Designer Copy listed. Was hoping someone within community may have info possibly from a private sale or know more regarding number in existence. My research is variable   At least 2 possibly 5 were produced

No problem.  The Designer and DM copies are both in the "unnumbered" category (I believe this is the case but I may be wrong).  The only reference to designer copy is the following:

"2 Designer's Copies (personal copies of author Allen Hammack).  Labeled "Designer Copy" in the upper left corner.  (The reason there's two Designer's copies is because of the two Author's copies created for Lost Tamoachan for its two authors; Allen Hammack successfully lobbied for two similar copies for his module)"

As I own both Designer's Copies I would be very interested in (& slightly skeptical of) news of another. Harold Johnson told me that he & Jeff Leason (co-authors of Lost Tamoachan) each received an author copy of Lost Tamoachan. When Allen Hammack wrote Ghost Tower he successfully argued that since there were two Author copies of Tamoachan there should be two author copies of Ghost Tower, so he was given two. Only Allen could probably confirm the existence of any additional copies.

To answer your last question Duggan, I have owned both of them for over 20 years.

Interesting!  I have owned mine since 1994. I know/have known some of the early TSR employees/writers/contributors
That were present at WinterCon when it debuted. Some anecdotal evidence suggests that more than the 2 copies actually existed. Personally. I do not know fact is if you own both and only 2 ever existed one has to wonder where mine came from. Since my ownership predates yours by several years may I ask how/where you obtained yours?  Thx!

My apologies. I read 20 years. Not "over 20 years". So my ownership may not "pre-date" yours

A cover scan, and maybe some pictures of interior pages, might help authenticate!

Can you post/provide some lower resolution pics perhaps so that it can be compared to the known copies?  Do you recall any additional details on how you obtained it?  As stratochamp has both of the designer's copies known to exist, it would be interesting to see how yours compare to the two he has.

Ah, looks like Foul beat me to the comment. :)

I met Garry Spiegle in 1983-84. We became close friends and remained so until we drifted apart in 2001/02. Garry introduced me to Allen Hammack around 1984/85 when he and wife Susan owned/operated the Lion&Unicorn in Birmingham's Southside district. Again I lost contact with Allen n the early-mid 90s after L&U was sold and Allen began his career with UAB.  I received 2-3 large boxes of mixed fro gaming modules/aids iirc from Garry n 93 or 94 dating from around 75 to around 87. My copy of GToI was in this bundle in a plastic dust cover with a L&U price tag of $2!  Sadly Garry passed in 2018 before I could renew our friendship. I and Allen recently reestablished contact and I am in discussions with him trying to track this copy. Allen did auction off both of his copies the most recent to aid Ernie Gygax

So, yes, I do have some fairly strong source documentation/provenance. I hope to meet with Allen soon in an attempt to further validate my copy

That is not me nor my copy on eBay. I will not offer mine for sale until I track the provenance if I even offer it then

The above images are of my personal copy and the one which I am tracking. And yes I am aware of the damage and the effect on value

Thanks for the pictures Duggan. It will be interesting to hear what Allen has to say. I don't know if he is coming to Gamehole Con, but if he his I'll ask him about it then.

Thx as I said I have been in contact with Allen we both suspect that Garry somehow obtained a copy. As I mentioned earlier I was told probably around 2008-2009 that there may have been as many as 5 copies actually made but I have no hard evidence only hearsay along with the obvious damage to my copy I.e. the 3 ring binder punches I am missing page 7/8. This page may be somewhere mixed into the boxes of modules I received but as of yet no luck finding it.

Allen did not mention his any upcoming Con plans so can't say if he will be here

I know the pics aren't great but does it appear the same as your copies?

Thx for the help/info/input
