Looking for some help. I have the TSR Encyclopedia Magica set, but in 8 volumes, due to it being a proof readers set. I haven't been able to find one on EBay, any idea of value. Thank you

Looks like it has quite a bit of writing and other markings.  But, despite those flaws, I'd still offer around $80.  :P

Seriously though, it looks beautiful and seems fairly unique. Your best bet may be an auction.

Not exactly what you asked, I realize, but this may be one of those items that's just hard to pin down.

ETA: looks like a 2nd edition set sold at auction for $223 5 days ago.  Given the nature of this set, its value would seem to be somewhat higher than that. Still not quite an answer, but hopefully a step in that direction.

Thank you, where do auctions for this type of thing occur or are you talking ebay? I've got a few other "unique" things from TSR, I need to get out and take photos of.

I was referring to eBay, but this site also has classifieds and there's also a RPG Auctions facebook group you should consider.

Others may have better alternatives than these as well as a more informed perspective on this item's (as well as your other items) value.

Good luck!

Items like that are nigh impossible to value accurately. However, posting them here may give you a ballpark, and alerts the group that they will be available.

For something as unique as this providing some sort of provenance can help with the interest and in theory the value.

I am also curious about the dimensions and what is on spine and back. From what I can see from the top picture it seems to look like the same style as one of the 2nd Edition "Complete" books.

Cheers,
Curt

The size is 11" X 8-1/2". Photos of the spine. The pic showing "pins" is the back side

That format seems correct.  I have a couple Dragonlance novel proofreader copies and this looks to be the same format.
