The price is right.  I guess it depends on what you're planning on doing with them (cutting them up and using them, adding to collection, reselling, etc).  If you just wanted geomorphs, you'd be better off picking up a cheap TSR Dungeon Geomorphs Sets 1-3, of course.  Might run you five bucks.

Adding to the collection. I was not sure what they were going for. I remember my teacher having what must have been the first set way back when I started playing in high school. Since I wanted them for nostalgia I knew the price was ok but you still hate paying too much...well at least I do.

Well if its any consulation, I was seriously considering bidding on them myself. With the shipping cost seemingly a question mark, that bidder who made that late charge made me reconsider. I wasn't planning on going much higher than the final bid you won with, but the 3rd bidder really kept me out completely. No way I wanted to get involved in a 3 way bidding war. Still, I think depending on what the overall condition ends up being like, I would say it was at least a pretty decent buy :) .

Had to back out  :(

Shipping to the US was 26 GBP with the cheapest that would take 6 weeks or more. He and I worked hard to find a way to make the transaction work but in the end the shipping was cost prohibitive.

Kiljoy,

He is in the UK and I assume from your information you are as well. Shipping within the UK might only be 8 -12 GBP he says. Much more affordable than shipping to the US. I struggled with passing on them. Had shipping to the US been 12 GBP there would have been no doubt but over double that was too much.
