There is set on ebay right now. I'll break the silence on it because I am sure everyone here is already got it on their watch list.

I am guessing it will go for $300 plus.

And I could've bought these damn modules off the 1$ rack!!!

You're probably right, but it sort of surprises me that this blatant TSR money grab is worth anything today.  I could make my own compilation, minus the not-so-snazzy case, so I don't see what's the big deal.

Rarity does not always equal value, and these items are overrated.  I remember them when they came out, and I didn't buy them then.  I wouldn't buy them now, unless I needed to stock up on modules.  (I wouldn't buy the newer anniversary stuff either!)

Actually, it's even $75. That is the price given on the WOTC homepage.

Nope, I'm going to take a pass on that one.  I'm sure I'll be kicking myself in 30 years when they're selling for 40 peta-bucks on Intergalactic 3D-bay.  Of course, by then, owning anything made out of paper will be punishable by death.

That would be impossible. The rate we are going, there won't be any trees by then.

Could someone please post a link to this?  I can't seem to find it.

I can't find it anymore either. I thought I had it on my watch list, but not there, either.

I am sure I tagged it... 8O  8O  8O ... It had X4 and others.

It is possible it got pulled, but I think it would have stayed on my watch list. It is possible I did not tag it...damn it...but planned on going back. Anyway, I found it a four or five days ago and it had several days to go...

Well that one might clear up the info on The Acaeum pertaining to this combo pack.  Looks like it contained X1-4 instead of X2, 3, 4, 6.  Could also be a new variation, I suppose.  Hopefully "a2jeff" will send in a scan.

I've entered it onto that page as a separate version.  It doesn't have a stock number, so it's hard to confirm. (I'm also slowly getting the impression that TSR tossed everything they could find into a Combo Pack of some sort.  They probably sold about three).

They were certainly just trying to clear out stock. I bet there are probably all kinds of variations (or were). They probably ran out of module "a" and replaced it with whatever was in the next box!

This probably isn't much help, but when I lived in Colorado Springs there was a shopowner who was religious about ordering 1 of each TSR release, no matter how popular or trite.  He'd only order more after he'd gotten multiple requests.  Anyway, one day in the 80s I walked in and there were 1 each of the 10th Anniversary Packs (not the set, just the bundles); I thought they were the most pathetic things I'd ever seen.  If they didn't sell the first time, don't unload on us!  But the point of this ramble is that I remember at least 15 different kinds of packs, from D&D to Gangbusters.  I wish I knew the specifications of each, but my memory isn't that sharp.  But I'm almost certain there was a G1-2-3 one with some other stuff in it as well.

Perhaps I am too dumb for this...but as I see it the only thing that is worth 120$+ here is the actual shrinkwrap plastic and that yellow flyer. So as soon as you remove the shrink this set is going to be worth about, lessay, 30$ or so, no?
That's not really something I would pay money for...except I'd have too much of it.

These items are situational rares - their packaging establishes provenance that they're available in considerably smaller numbers than individually shrinkwrapped items.  Paradoxically, it's the fact that so few were bought, because they were silly, that makes them valuable now.  Once you open the package, even with the yellow tag, you have a pile of mint common modules worth about $5-10 each.

Ok, for me that means I will certainly spend my next 100$+ on actual printed/stapled papers instead of a shrink plastic and a yellow flyer thingie :)
