Hi All,

I've got a pretty large and substantial Forgotten Realms collection.  I've left DnD and moved on to Warhammer.  I haven't played DnD in years.  Even if I changed my mind, I have to admit that I don't care for the FR anymore.  I'm more into Greyhawk as the pantheons make more sense to me.

So, what is the best way to sell all my old books?  Ebay just seems a bit tedious and I am uncertain of the prices.  I was hoping to sell mine in bulk somewhere, but if I happen to have a particularly rare item or two, I can sell them separate.

I see that there is a classified section here.  Is this the best way to sell?  Any other suggestions?

I'll go get my books down from the attic to list what I have.

Its always best to know what you have before you consider selling. Then, when informed, you can make a better estimate as to what to do. Very common stuff will probably do better as a lump and the more obscure probably in their own sale. eBay works, Classified here tends to get some attention when selling and there are other means such as RPGMarketplace or even just swapping with Noble Knight Games for store credit.

I would break that into lots. Probably sell most of the box sets individually, but I would sell these with one of the 2 Campaign Setting boxes: FR1,2,5,11; FRS1; FRQ2; FOR3. I'd put all the Volo Guides together (there are many more than what you listed) and sell them together [in fact, I'd be interested in buying them that way]. Lump the d20 stuff together.

Unfortunately, none of that is really "rare" though some are seemingly sought after like the Myth Drannor and Menzoberranzan sets.

Thanks for the info!  I really do appreciate it.  I've already gotten a couple PM's.  Just initial contacts.  I'm willing to see whatever the best deal is and go with it.  I'm low hassle and could just use the extra cash for some Warhammer things.

Oh, I found

Volo's Guide to the Sword Coast
Volo's Guide to Baldur's Gate II

I COULD NOT FIND Volo's Guide to the North.

Oh, and I have a bunch of Polyhedron magazines with some FR articles.  Is it of the Vast?  I think so.  I think I have all the Vast issues.

EDIT AGAIN:

I also found TSR's "Wizard's Spell Compendium Volumes 1-4".  It's a compilation of all the Wizard Spells from all the source books they had at the time.  It says Advanced Dungeons and Dragons, so isn't that 1st Ed?

Are those rare?

Nope common item worth around $15 - $25 per book depending on condition

Also, they are second edition. There was a trend at the end (before d20) to drop the edition label. I could use those too, if they're not beat to hell like mine.

Photos/scans would be nice.

I'll try to get pictures of them today.  They are in good condition.  I won't say "mint" due to some every slight wear on the edges of the covers.  Oh, and one has a very slight mark on the front.  I'll take pictures and post.

I'm going to check on store credit for some old 3.5 DnD books at the local game store.  Will use the credit to get more Warhammer stuff  :D

Actually, I was thinking about the compendium and I really like it.  If I ever play DnD again (no matter what version) I could use it as a source to develop all sorts of new and interesting spells for the campaign.  I think I'll keep them and all my old modules/dungeon magazines.

Also, I ended up selling my 3.5 FR stuff to my local game store for store credit.  I think I got $120 store credit for it.  Not bad!  He sells it for half price.  He can give me 50% cash of that half (so, 25% of listed price) or 75% of the half in store credit.  I went with the latter.
