I'm not sure which one you mean.

1999 version of CSIO?

I've never seen that one.  Did any of them sell?

I've seen it once and I'm still kicking myself for not buying it.

I bought mine from the JG site way back when along with some other stuff. Seen a couple on Ebay, think Ian picked one of those up.

Tis another one that should have a good number of them floating around out there, but you just don't see them.

Well I'm sending out an email, but have tried in the past (maybe found a better address this time so shall see)

Anyway, the numbers on this would have been 444 units (and Pegasus #14 903 units)

Found the saved site (which I recall as being the one I used back so many years ago) and most items had what was in stock at the time (did not check all the updates though) Revised CSIO had 54 units left in stock June 2003, Pegasus had 825 units left in stock July 2003

Love the way back machine :) http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://judgesguild.com

((I now realize I should curse that machine, spent hours pulling stuff from old sites, gah.. )

$5 is a bloody steal, that's what it is. And my only problems with the 1999 version are the index and the player/Judge maps on the same map sheet, which, as I gather, were due to the printer and not the editors. I own two copies myself, and used to have three before one ended up stolen.

(Now as I understand it, the Quicklink Dark Tower may be something of a rarity, as it didn't sell well and most of the run ended up pulped. But that may just be a misunderstanding on my part).

Yeah I'm curious about that Dark Tower, but I can't get Hunter to email me, so I think if it isn't about Traveller then he doesn't bother. Oh well.

I have learned that the 1999 CSIO had a print run of 1000 or so, with almost half that selling in the first year. So this would be scarce.

That's sad, especially considering the bang for the buck. It is literally one of the best and most packed game products ever written.

I've got a 1999 CSIO too.  I bought it for $10 from a store in Toronto.  I should check and see if they have another one - I think they might.  I have that Dark Tower one too.

Interesting . . . I wouldn't have thought that the '99 CSIO was rare at all. I bought mine several years ago through QuikLink.

You could easily double your investment by selling it to me.  :D

Well if 1000 printed and 7+ years removed now, guess its going to be hard to find.
QuikLink has also completely removed all signs of Judges Guild, probably in the past year, from their site.

Interesting! I never figured I would have a "rare" in my collection. Maybe I could be one of those guys who just happens to have an extremely rare item packed away in the basement, 20 years later it's paying for my vacation home.
