Hmmm. I suppose it might be true then. 4 copies isn't much for a mag printed 18 or so years ago.

Would like a scan/photo of the sticker if possible. It is the first instance I've heard of any specific print run regarding this.

A strange Gamescience Tegel has been mentioned before:

I was going to post this one Monday, but ran out of time. When I do, I'll try and get a good scan of the sticker. It is a small oval sticker with "Rare! Only 100 copies made" on it.
It does say Prepub version on the booklet, so I can definitely see them only printing 100 copies in a B/W format, then printing the rest in color after the prepubs sold.

I may start with a Gamescience Tegel... they are much easier to find, but really would prefer a more original version, since I actually like the skeletal method of adventure design.

the gamescience version is actually quite cool imo, serl.

the layout of the original booklet just suits my style of DMing anyway, so was more suited to me, but for others, they may find the more recent versions, much more to their liking.

crazy egor often has them for sale.

Thanks. I'll probably be in there some time this weekend (likely Saturday) so I might just poke my head around. Still owe the man some odd $700 (I make regular payments though) but it never goes down 'cause I'm always finding more to add to my "layaway box." Heh, I suck.

Definitely sounds like a Gamescience version is worth having, just to have a more fleshy module. :)

Indeed.

And for the completists out there, this shall jump the 3.x editions and make its way as a 4th edition release in 2008. (and please don't argue about editions here).

Nice buy indeed! Blew right passed my bid (Balarnega) and Orcus himself (Necromancergames).

I figured in the end it would go for around $100; a bit too sweet for me right now.

The sad thing is this one and Thunderhold/Sunstone are just going to keep going up and up and get harder and harder to find... and they are the only two original editions I'm missing... :(

Ah well, a challenge is always good! :)

I finally saw one of the 1st prints, up close, and personal. I even got to touch it. Alas, it was not for sale, but, I do know they exist, at least. Damnit. One of these centuries after lichdom I'll hold one of these and say "yes, it is mine." But, until then, all you lucky people... enjoy!
