hey guys. i can't find my DT. dunno where the feck i've put the bloody thing (spent nearly an hour looking for it)....

have read what y'all have put. i've had about 5 diff. DT's at one point or another and have never really noticed any big differences.

what i would possibly suggest tho, is that there is no way whatsoever, that there is gonna be 4 different 1st prints. what would be the logic in that?

i think they are simply printing anomolies. back in the day, it was quite a common thing and with what david was suggesting, i dont think its far off the mark.

Well, I see no reason why there should be a grey grid on page 18. I would imagine the ideal would be grey grid on pages 6 and 22 (of which I unfortunately have no copies) as they are both maps, and that the other variations are printing faults.

My proposed sequence would be....

Grey Grid to Pages 6 and 22. No grid to page 18 (1st edition). Booty list to #93.
Grey Grids in any other combination of 6,18 or 22 (1st edition with flawed printing). Booty list to #93.
No Grid to Pages 6, 18 and 22 (2nd edition). Booty list to #710.

Unfortunately, I seem to have 2 different 1st editions with printing flaws.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

Well, getting a 1st print Sea Steeds today it has some page tops attached.

Page 1/2 (cover) is attached to page 15/16 (on the top) and 31/32 (back cover) (side by side) while 15/16 is attached to 17/18 (side by side).
Page 3/4 is attached to page 13/14 (on the top) and 29/30 (side by side) while 13/14 is attached to 19/20 (side by side).
Page 5/6 is attached to page 11/12 (on the top) and 27/28 (side by side) while 11/12 is attached to 21/22 (side by side).
Page 7/8 is attached to page 9/10 (on the top) and 25/26 (side by side) while 9/10 is attached to 23/24 (side by side).

This would make the first set and third set of #s printed upside down per each portion listed above (if that seems right..i.e. page 1 and 32 are upside down compared to page 16 and 17)

I love all of this technical talk.  It sounds so erudite.

I just bought a D20 copy of Dark Tower.  I am looking forward to reading it.
