After 18 months of monitoring, Waspwinter was the lowest valued product on my list at an average of $1.18 for a SW copy. This has all changed with Cougie setting a new record:

Not to mention I have a SW copy in my ebay store for under $10. Apparantly he was trying to maximize his buys from Crazy Egor and ended up over bidding on a few items so he could combine shipping. Dumbass.

PS...which I sold immediately after posting this, probably by someone noticing my final price was below Crazy Egor's minimum price, or seeing the last one sold at $20 so $8.50 was a deal!!!

Dea's a really nice person and I've bought some decently priced stuff from her over the years, but from this and other items I've also come to the conclusion that she really doesn't know the value of Judges Guild stuff.

I've noticed an interesting phenomenon with JG books. Because of their low production values, they look old, and in a lot of used bookstores and online seller's minds, that equates to "valuable". I rarely see JG items priced at "logical" prices when they turn up in the local Half Price Books, and they will typically sit on the shelves for a long time with prices of $25 or so each on common stuff.

I think we can see the same thing online, maybe not as much because a simple word search of the item's title will lead one to discover there are lots of copies out there of most items. But take it from me, even priced to sell ($5-$6 each) JG items can sit a LONG time in an Ebay store!

I have been watching some Runequest stuff for a friend of mine who plays and was looking for some older stuff (Pavis, Big Rubble, etc.).

Those two items in particular usually fetch a price of $60-$80 for fine+ copies.

I had been watching out for Duck Tower a while back because PoC over at Yog-Sothoth.com was looking for one. They did not come around that often and when I did see them they usually were going for around $40-$50.

There may have been some that went cheaper than that since I was not looking out for them that closely.

While filling in holes in my collection (read: I don't play Runequest), Duck Tower was one that took a while to find. I remember paying more than for most JG adventures, but that price seems crazy high.

This is the 3rd, 3rd print "Of Skulls and Scrapfaggot Green" I have seen. The first went for 99 cents, the second went for $2.25. The third went for $35.99

I watched ebay for months looking for that one, lost a lot of auctions with it going for $30+. Then I lost patience & spent an hour looking through Google searches for it. A copy had been sitting for who-knows-how-long in Fine Games' low-tech online store for $3, along with a yellow-cover Apple Lane for the same price.

That seems to be the main problem with eBay's new Shiller Protection Program.
Loss of confidence from buyers who think that an auction is being shilled.
This will also hurt honest sellers when a newbie shows up.
Perhaps there should be a setting on auctions to allow the seller to set a minimum feedback level that is permitted to bid.
I know there is one to block bidders with negative feedback.

Yeah who knows nowadays, could be a reseller or someone who wants people to avoid the auction due to the thought of a shiller, etc. Course I think there will be snippers for this auction.

Wiser still, would be for eBay to institute "popcorn" bidding. That is where bids placed within the last few minutes of an auction closing extends the auction by 10 minutes or so. This accomplishes two things. 1) it nullifies people who are using sniping software and 2) insures that the seller truly gets the highest bid.
