I'll agree, hex sheets/books didn't appear to be anything special, and the Judges Guild book itself was a later print.

I was wondering about that myself. I kept watching the price go up and could not figure out why. I am pretty sure I picked up a first printing of the Hex system much cheaper than that within the last year.

Ah... dropped out, now?

** expired/removed eBay auction **

$12 with 22 hours to go.

(Seller has a few other play-condition TSR bundles finishing after that sale, with media mail option).

It was the US only shipping that killed that. I'd have gone to $40 at least. I've noticed a lot of US sellers are supremely ignorant of the world outside of the US of A. As a result, they get a fraction of what they could have got. That's good old trailer park economics.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

I would like to point something out but hopefully not start another situation. I am pretty sure this is an example of what I mentioned in another thread..which had posts deleted. Supremely ignorant was ok because that may be accurate as most people do not do business on a global scale. That could most likely be said for any country. I find the "trailer park economics" portion a little offensive though. Perhaps we could refrain from using comments based on national stereotypes. Thanks.

We have our fair share of trailer parks here in the UK, Marl'. Indeed, we have whole towns of the things, like Grimsby. We also have stacks of gypsies (although they tend to stay mostly in the south of England except in the summer when they get everywhere). But we don't have as much of the 'I'm only going to sell to Brits' thing. That seems to be an American ideal.

The 'trailer park economic' I referred to, is the same here in the UK. The ill educated man who decides to live a poor life, and feels perpetually down trodden by society, but won't do anything about it. Here in they UK they call themselves 'decent scum'. Most of those types in the UK won't even get off their arse and get a job. But then we pay them handsomely to watch Sky TV. :D

Oh, and they call themselves 'decent scum' because they think you're only 'scum' when you've done prison time. That's their deffinition, not mine.

And here I thought trailer parks were USA specific. I always assumed it was because land was often so cheap here and that is where the parks ended up. It has to be much more effective to have apartment buildings where land is limited I would think. I stand corrected and hopefully there won't be any need for further discussion unless it is to remark on my complete lack of knowledge concerning manufactured housing.

We have trailer parks in the UK?  I've never seen one, I must get out more.

We have a small number of semi-permanent gypsy/traveller communities, but they're hardly US-style trailer parks.

I was brought up in Grimsby, and never saw a trailer park there.  Are you sure you're not confusing them with the caravan sites in Cleethorpes?!

I saw the movie Snatch, so I consider myself an expert on UK gypsies.

I couldn't figure out how they all just disappeared in the end, and were considered untraceable.  Why not just look for groups of squatters with trailers?

The $18 price for Inferno was an awesome win for that bidder.  I got mine last year for $20 or so.  Inferno is over-priced, partly based upon interest by this specific group of collectors.  If no one here were bidding on Tegel and Inferno, those prices would drop by half overall, at least.

I think that is exactly what happened. I had a snipe of $40 set on that auction for the Inferno alone.  I ended up cancelling it with 2 hours to go after it got posted here. I assumed it would go for more than my snipe and if it did not it would go for $30+ and I deceided I really did not need another copy of Inferno just on the off chance it was in better shape than the one I have now. I regret the decision now of course.

It would be nice if we could test that theory. All agree to not bid on a midrange item like Tegel or Inferno and see what the prices are. I am guessing this will never happen though. We could also try the reverse....but I think you have mentioned something similar to that before. Where discussion here inflates or causes runs on items like Thieves Guild.

I swear that Thieves Guild thing really happened.  A lot of the bidding came from guys on this site.

There are probably some, however, who just bid on everything anyway.

BUT on the flip side, when I mentioned wanting one of the rarer Thieves Guild items, a member on this site sent me a copy and would not take anything in payment.  That was just too amazingly nice.

I think I was one of the ones who bid against you on some of those. I do bid on just about everything though. Seeing it discussed here probably just put it in the forefront of my brain and got me thinking I needed it. Recently I have been fixating on Traveller items. I am eventually going to try and get into buying miniatures in a serious way.

sorry mark i have to disagree with you there. i have sat and watched at least a half-dozen tegels where nobody i know on this site has gone near them and they have STILL sold for a pretty amount. inferno imo is not quite as premier an item as maybe a nice tegel is, but its still very decent and again, i have seen a good 4-5 of them go for very good prices without an acaeum member near them.

i think ebay is a lottery anyway. sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you dont. you get the odd few at a lower amount, but generally the prices for these stay good.

They were Irish Travellers, not Roma Gypsies.  It's probably a good idea not to confuse the two.  Sort of like asking a Kiwi if he's Australian!!
