Judges Guild made boxed sets?   :)

RPG’s, D&D in particular has had a major influence in my life. It’s bonded me together with life long friends...it’s that bond in life not just as friends, but in our jokes, our mannerisms, and what we find funny. Invincible Overlord

I gotta say, the ar*e really seams to have fallen out of the JG market these days on eBay. Maybe it's a case that prices are down right across the board, or maybe I just have jaded recollections of how much things used to be worth when I was building my collection. I don't know.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

Good time to buy then.

Hah! Someone should've bought that unwanted Imperial Infantry Squad at under the $20 which was being asked, and resold for $50.
Or maybe they did...? ;)

Seriously, though, there have been some fairly strong JG prices amongst the weaker ones in recent months. None of the following are shabby;

(association copy only, hole-punched; seemed a solid enough price, thus)

(heh; variant copies still in SW with the extra map can be sourced at ~$50, so I don't know what that was about...)

Aaron's not doing too badly, is he? :)
Buying "less expensively", as ever, is a matter of patience and timing for anything not overly rare.
(Feeling any better, Ian?)

Curious as to the end price on

, too.

I don't know how NKG sell at those prices. For the most part, I can only assume it's newbies who know no better, and the money to burn (unless there's something more incidious going on, which I doubt.)  I can understand the Treasure Trove auction, but with NKG, the business model is, set the price sky high and wait for a muppet no matter how long it takes. Their listings are pennies after all, and I doubt their use of stock photos, their caveats and their honest descriptions have changed much in the past few years.

I need to give my collection a trim.

Those prices have some lunacy involved. I have stacks and stacks of The Dungeoneer's Compendium in SW and have been selling them at $9.99 a pop for the last few years.  Yes, muppet describes the buyer in a lot of these situations.

More power to him for shooting high, but last time I bought from the ebay NK they sold bogus copies of Tekumel stuff (though the price was cheap).

I picked up some dubious Tekumel stuff from NKG a while back, but I put it down to either them reprinting the stuff because they had the rights to do so (the old Lou Zocchi gambit), or the possibility that they had inadvertently bought a box load of them off of a seller in bulk. Whilst some of the staff appear to have questionable integrity when it comes to honestly describing what they are selling, and they still have a problem with 'stock photos' not accurately representing big price tag items, Aaron has always struck me as the honest sort, trying to scale a business with a bunch of staff just doing an admin job for the wages. You can't watch what your staff do all the time. The measure of a business really has to come down to how they address issues when a customer is not happy. To that end, I don't read too many complaints about NKG, when compared to some of the other online retailers and/or big name eBay resellers.

I certainly still trawl through the weekly e-mail looking for bargains, but their prices really have gone through the roof this last year or so. There was a time when NKG seemed to be a volume reseller, relying on turnover to bring in the profit. Now it seems to be more about high profit margins and that of course destroys the volume sales. Good if you can sustain it, but very few companies can in such a niche market acting solely as the middle man.

Maybe what NKG need is a partnership/sponsorship deal with writers of quality to bring 'NKG Exclusives' to the market, similar to Netflix and House of Cards (Not a bad adaption IMO).

(Better value for gaming content than that rough-looking 2nd print Chainmail that just finished, IMO ;))

Thank you all for.bidsing!  I had no idea values had reached thus pont.

Search for sales by Priceknight

I'm going to be posting about 100 to 300 Judges Guild items on Ebay.  How many of the 300 will actually be listed depends on what they turn out to be worth.  The $1 each items I usually sell locally since shipping can be more than the item value.

A good 15 to 20 are already posted.  Please take a look.  Some are in shrink wrap, some are in "like new" condition, and some have all the magic items highlighted.  Condition in each auction or buy it now listing is noted and pictures are provided.

NOTE:  Some of the items have already proven to be fairly valuable, $30 to $40 range at least.  We'll see where bidding tops out.  I'm not really a JG collector; more of a fan from back in the day.  My rather sizable collection stems from two acquisitions.  First, a person I ran into at a convention who was selling his ENTIRE collection; back in 1995.  Unfortunately he highlighted all the magic items in every book he owned (so far I've not found one he missed).  His collection is about 20% of the JG stuff I'm selling.  The second was from a game store in So. Cal. that was going out of business; back in 1998.  I purchased five boxes of game books and never opened four of them until last week.  I still don't really have a good idea of what's in them but; I pulled out all the Judges Guild stuff to sell.  About half are in the original (if rather odd) JG shrink wrap which looks to me more like old saran wrap...

Everything I list is mold, odor, and pet hair free.  I never let any contaminants into my private "collection" room.

Thanks!
Dan

Several other middling value items visible in addition to those noted: who's asked for a full list of what's in the stack, given the potential for "sleepers"? :)

(Seller has a couple of interesting MERP auctions, too).
