I picked up this guys castles and crusades collection. He is selling it through one of those ebay shops where they get 35% off the top. This kind of thing just makes me irritated.

The sellforu place did a great job packing the order and sent it out lightning quick, but this lot should have been split up into individual lots. And not going to the trouble to sell it himself, it just gets me angry thinking about it.

Here are some threads about these auctions. It's a DF member who is selling:

The trouble with splitting up the lot is that these sellforu places do not combine shipping.

Although in this case, the sellforu has explicitly said they will not combine shipping but the owner of the items has said unofficial "they will work with you".

I dont mean the sellforu. I mean the guy should have sold this stuff for himself. He is getting a fraction of what he could have if hed sold them himself, in some cases he is paying the sellforu place when the items didnt get a high enough bid.

Yes, I can't stand those places either.  I gave the guy a brief rundown of his take and their take on his first lot of auctions.  Since a number of them didn't sell well, it ended up being almost a 50/50 split.

Perhaps you could also add that in effect the guy is actually not even making 50%.
He is truly LOOSING money on everything he is allowing the re-seller to list for him on E-Bay.
Or did he get all that stuff for free when he originally bought it all?
The only one winning there is the re-seller.

I tried to be very blunt about the whole thing and I believe he said that he was going to then list some stuff for sale on Dragonsfoot but it looks like he chose to go with the reseller again.  For someone who is crying "bid on my auctions because I'm out of work", I don't have as much sympathy as I would someone else who is listing the items themselves.

Sheese, since he is out of work, then that is all the more reason to list the stuff himself.
And all the more reason to have time to do so.
Perhaps it is simply TOO hard for him to figure out how to list stuff on E-Bay..........  :?
Seems to me he has made a whole stack of bad choices.

I have no sympothy for him either, after that info was revealed.
Let the re-seller make a fortune off of his ignorance and/or laziness.
LONG LIVE CAPITALISM!

Portly Pomp 1982 catalog

** expired/removed eBay auction **

Seller states that the item is "yellowed" but it does not look too bad in the photo.

Ebay seller tarumil has several copies of the 1983 catalog with a reasonable BIN.
