D, you pointed those out before, but I dont get it. :? Is it because they are red-orange and the rest are blue? Different printing?

<checks site>*

1st printing, I see, very nice condition. :D Were did they come from?

Well, I won another 2nd or 3rd print First Fantasy Campaign in shrink:
(see earlier in this thread for my other)

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... %3AIT&rd=1

$22.50 and included a Wilderlands of High Fantasy (4th) also in shrink.

The last open FFC that I noticed went for ~$35 (January, not sure of print), so I threw in a ~$30 quick bid here. Later I realized that the shipping calculator said it would be $12.95 for priority and $12.11 for regular....zoiks, but my fault for not checking. Then I won the auction, asked the seller for an invoice, and he only charged $4.05 for priority. Mailed monday and received today - with an actual shipping cost of $4.55. Nice for a feedback 9 (now 11) seller! Complete luck on my part. Not as lucky as some around here lately though.  :D

I was actually hoping the shrink would be partially torn so I could take it off without guilt...but no such luck, so I am still looking for a FFC without shrink. At these prices, it should be $10 or less.

If so, you didn't really get a bargain here, bclarkie, just a fair price:

Judges Guild First Fantasy Campaign NR Dave Arneson | eBay

(Unless it's a 1st - can't tell from the cut-off pic).

The Wilderlands I mentioned above has a "Crazy Egor" price tag on the back of the shrink with a $34.95 price on it.  8O

indeed it is a 1st and its worth more than $22.50 lemme tall ya - in shrink it will fetch about as much a premium as they are worth, when someone is trying to grab one.

nice win!

I assumed a $30+ price tag on that shrink-wrapped set, so I did not bother with a bid.  (Kinda low on cash at the moment.)

One of the reasons I did not bid was because of the shrinkwrap.    :?   I do not really like getting SW items because they do not really seem to belong to me when I am not allowed to look at them.

Thanks! Though, I'm pretty sure bclarkie was referring to the one he won as being a first (those items were all charmed). Mine is def a 2nd or 3rd, it's got the small price at the bottom rather than the large price in the middle of the page.

Got this today, and from it..well helps research.

David, the Installment L envelope you have is spot on the mail date as this Tegel Booty list contests:

http://i1.tinypic.com/oax6k8.jpg

Al you are right in regards of not calling these new printings, its the 1st print booklet L, thin font titled CC, maps..just the cover sheet changes for these known copies.
Now Boot Lists to #30, to #37, Treasure Vault to #160, No Product list. So I am wondering how to call these variants, and well wondering just when the 2nd print booklet L came into being.
I do now believe the evidence is out to say that the thin font titled/single sided Character Codex is the 1st print, the thick font 2nd, and the thick font double sided 3rd.

Another interesting bit..the Thunderhold maps (yeah both Judge and Players) have the Hammermill Bond watermark - my other copies of these maps so far do not, so am wondering if anyone has the watermark also on their Thunderhold maps?

Thanks Shane.

*sigh*. I wish that lot had its mailers, too. You did spot the "Originally published in..." wording, there?
Good, so that date tallies (pretty much) with when they originally released the subscription "L"s; and that can be similarly asserted back to "J" as I was doing, before.

New reverse on cover sheet only?
Tegel Manor Playing Aid is fine, although "3rd release" rather than "3rd printing", perhaps?
(Not worth listing the cover sheet as a separate item, too? ;)).

Good question on the orange Tegel...

Yes.
That would be "first state", presumably, given no indication of prior printing and the date (~Sep/Oct 76) they originally started using that supplier's paper?

Please give me a shout when you've finished filtering-through the previous input (or possibly when that yet-another CSIO #12 arrives ;)), since I'd like to go back through what we've all discussed thus far (implications on dating for #1, #4, etc.).

CSIO arrived along with true 1st print CSWE - so now 4 'printings/variants' (not as 'water damaged' as I suspected so happy and came in original opened shrinkwrap)
May not get to any updating of the site, but who knows.

CSWE's cover sheet has Treasure Vault up to #170, and appears just from glance Guidebook is different.

CSIO has the subscription card and mailing card (so I think they appeared with only this playing aid). Thunderhold maps have the Hammermill Bond watermark along with players map (so I am curious if the non-watermarked Thunderholds go with the Thunderhold Installment :?: )

Other then that, Disscussion is open David and those who also have these early products..lets try and hammer this out at the 'early JG items discussion' thread.

Hey the other is all yours (watch out for you know who though  )..I have my players map (and both cards too which was a good surprise) so am done buying CSIO.
Glad the shipment arrived safely

Side Note: In my cleaning I'm coming across extra stuff I think I'll sell (so may just try my hand at this so called Ebay selling thing)..be a while until I get a list sorted with condition/printings/etc though.

Thanks.
Still awaiting those other updates/catch-up, Shane. A few posts of that either haven't filtered through, yet, or else waiting for the nod (e.g. on #30).

Bonus points if you can spot my previous comments re. #4 from before and add those in to that item's chronology without my re-posting those.
(Of course, everyone else will be missing confirmation of the key observation since you emailed that to me, rather than posted it here ;))

Plaag wrote:CSIO arrived along with true 1st print CSWE - so now 4 'printings/variants' (not as 'water damaged' as I suspected so happy and came in original opened shrinkwrap)

Nice :)

No.

And no, again, afaik.

I'll just point above to the previous posts. Best not to repeat myself too often. I do not have any installment runs with a #12 (and you keep outbidding me on those :P).
Therefore that mailing card presumably came with "K" as I originally suggested ("L" at an outside possibility, if just "surplus stock").
And per the top of the page, watermarked and original installment.

Plaag wrote:..lets try and hammer this out at the 'early JG items discussion' thread.

Yeah, need to keep all that "open", though. It's somewhat of a jigsaw puzzle, isn't it?
All good fun... :D

OK, after reading a lot of the excellent posts here and checking out the JG subweb in greater detail, I finally won my first JG auction.  I probably paid a bit too much for it but after looking at the amazing detail put into it, I think it is definitely worth it.

Now if I can just pick up the rest of the City State items to go along with it I will be in good shape.  :D

Contratulations...and that is not too much for Wraith Overlord.  As I recall, I saw your bid and decided not to snipe a fellow Acaeum member.
