I just got mine back...unfortunately, it says "$2.50" on the cover in grease pencil and it has rusted staples.

Interestingly...I have been frustrated on a number of cheapo bids to get Modron with all of the maps...and discovered one this past week in my storage bin.

From Collecting General - Non TSR (Old Magazines with Judges Guild material forum):
Plaag wrote:I'm basically wondering if anyone has the following magazines:

Games and Puzzles January 1977 issue

Strategy & Tactics May/June 1977 issue

Phanta Carta (not sure what issue, but one before July 1977)

The Dungeonmaster (Iowa based fanzine from 1977)

What I need is to know what information pretaining to Judges Guild (reviews/articles) there is or better yet a scan/photo of said pages would surfice. If anyone knows of other magazines barring Dragon, Dungeon or White Dwarf with Judges Guild information that would be helpful.

Thanks,

ShaneG.

Well I picked up Strategy & Tactics #62
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 8817850513

Has very little on anything D&D related (Has page on Origins 77) and this little bit for Judges Guild:

The Judges' Guild (PO Box 773, Decatur, IL 62525, one year membership, $12) This is not a game, but rather a service for D&D fans, and, as such, it is done with the permission of TSR.  Members of the Guild receive a large, two-color 34" x 44" paper map of the City State of the Invincible Overlord (in extensive detail), a smaller version of the same for note-taking; 135 Dungeon Tac Cards; an Initial Guidelines booklet (16 pages); five Dungeon Level charts (one for each level); several charts for Men Attacking, Monsters Attacking, and Chainmail effects. There is an incredible wealth of detail here.

1st print Tac Cards
135 cards, unlike what is state in auction, but just a slightly different makeup in numbers for certain cards.

Oh and I shall sell a 1st print Tac Cards (have to look through my other one and see which I care to keep).
So a question would be, should I correct this to represent what the site has in terms of number per individual cards (since I have plenty of extras) or leave the sets as they are.

Would be nice at that price, auction would have gone for more if it was and had a scan.

I let it sit while I was waiting for a response on product list (don't know what frame of mind I was in to allow that) however it's a 3rd printing and am now waiting on it arriving (media mail). Am happy though to have found one.

At what point does collecting become investing?

There is some sort of imaginary tripline after which the collector has begun to develop scales, leathery wings and fiery breath.

Of late he had half fancied that he had caught the dim echoes of a knocking sound from far above that came down through it to his lair.  He stirred and stretched forth his neck to sniff.   Then he missed the B2.

personally, i think anything you collect is an investment, no matter what argument anyone provides.
