If they can't get close then they aren't reading what is right in front of them.  Sadly, there is a deficit of RPG players south of a line from roughly Las Vegas east to the Carolinas.  And I need a couple of new players for my campaign....

it actually went for a bit less than i was expecting it to as well. i had my bid ready for $70 and thought that was only a 50/50 chance of winning it.

but still nice to see it holding such a good value as well.

thats an excellent specimen for the collection. even i would be impressed with that one :D

I was figuring $60, and seen John bid twice so wondering if the 2nd bidder was close to his first snipe bid.

Well you have one in shrink, so thats something to be chuffed about

Wait!  Didn't we just learn that "chuffed" means happy or enthusiastic?

Seeing as you want only 1 of each item and not printing I can understand, but wouldn't you also want to keep one set that was out of shrink?

well um that would be nice, but um, kinda cant afford it now with that acquisition today so gotta make allowance and rebuild!

can always snag another in time anyway, so its not such a biggie.

if i wanna read it anyway, i can just get a cheapo later print which crop up quite often.

Thanks.  I had a $63 snipe.  But then I upped it to $73 in the dying seconds just in case.  I've been after one of these since they were released.  And I just never got round to buying one.  And more recently the thought of paying so much just stuck in my throat.  But I've decided to do some rationalising (e.g. Role Aids) and that should help pay for the items that I set out to collect in the first place.

I have noticed a phenomenon I call "collecting creep."

This is the tendency for a collector interested in one type of item to let his interests creep over onto other items.

I ended up buying quite a bit of other stuff on my way to buying copies of all the Judges Guild fantasy modules.

Somehow, I oozed over onto Thieves Guild and Chaosium and absorbed them into my growing, amorphous collection.

Of course, now there's a renewed interest in Dungeon...and I still mean to get back to Dragon...and then there Metamorphosis Alpha that I was interested in back in 1978...and of course I wouldn't mind a copy of Gamma World...and I still need a couple set of Arduin items...and of course my recent disappointment with All The Worlds Monsters means I have some unfinished business there....

...and so on until soon I'll be attacking all the teenagers at the town cinema and Steve McQueen will have to freeze me with fire extinquishers and drop me in the Antartic.

well mark, the way i look at it is like this. as long as there is something out there worth looking for, it keeps the interest nice and sharp and you wont ever give up :)

its always nice to have a challenge in looking for something.

True.  Like when I get rid of my 2E stuff, I'll find it strangely attractive and want to buy it all again in a years time.
