well thats what i initially thought when i saw it.

if it was the real-deal i would have gone about selling it in a totally diff way to what he has.

even if its a 2nd (JG 1st), i wont even entertain it now, as i know he's doctoring his items favorably. dont like that and it would only end in tears and they wouldnt be mine!

might be worth avoiding that chap then ?

he's the one who has got the mullered CSIO and the Tegel up.

Yeah..his CSIO states that the cover is missing, yet he claims to know what edition his is and has posted the picture of that copy. SURE. Done it for 20 years, it must be right.

Green Skull Bag: Women's Handbags | eBay

i saw this one at lunchtime (about 4 hrs ago)

i assume its shane who has asked the question?

could it actually be pre-JG? dont look pre-JG to me :)

Al

I've asked for a photo of the first page..shall see what I get. (and see how web savy this guy is).

ShaneG.

Here is the reply I got when I asked for a picture of the 1st page:

yes I can but it would cost money to post it in the listing. The page on the other side of the cover is blank, nothing at all. The next page is numbered one at the bottom and is actually the area map. page 2 is the town map. Page 3 is the beginning of the details and says Materials Explanation at the top of the page. Page 4-6 is named at the top-- D & D Tournament ...DM Rules ending at the bottom of page 6 with this last rule:

XI Miscellaneous

A. The Gods are on vacation---NO DIVINE AID IS AVAILABLE!

If you give me a nice starting bid plus the 35 cents it will cost me to ad another picture to my auction, I will post something for you, though you are requesting either a blank page or a map. THERE IS NO TITLE PAGE WITH PUBLISHING INFO. I cannot increase the cost of the add with no bidding...

Now with that I checked my copy, and checking the stated pages plus the back I saw that this did not match up. Well low and behold I check the 4th print and find all the above info and the back cover picture just like he has it (no cover sheet, though not surprised).

His JG auctions are Bull Sh*t! I do not know about his other auctions, but I'm done now with this scammer.

well you have just clarified what i was saying earlier and just arrived at the same conclusion with regards to the 4th print.

the gencon IX, tegel and CSIO are all missing the covers and i think thats all there is to it.

bar for the CSIO maps, the auctions are basically a pile of shite aint they.

am gonna go edit my post from yesterday where i mentioned his ebay listing  :?

I e-mailed the guy and pointed out that it was JG that commisioned Sheryl England to do the cover art, and not Bob Blake. I also asked about the back cover art. It seems as though its a paste up of a 3rd/4th print.

Here's his response....

I bought this module in The B&I department store over 20 years ago in Tacoma, Wa. It looks the same now as it did then except maybe a little worse for wear. I have no other back covers to compare to and I dont know who Sheryl is. (England?) that is the signature on the picture. I never looked at this module that way since I bought it as a teenager, and what teenager has that critical of an eye.can you send me some pics of 3rd and 4th back cover printings to compare to. I have seen copies of other front copies everything but the first printing.

It seems as though the guy is peddling fakes. I gave him the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe he had bought a fake and didn't know, but my gut instinct is that he's trying to rip people off pure and simple.

I am actually quite tempted to buy this thing and when it turns out to fake, drill him with a neg. :x

I believe I have exactly this publication in better condition.  I don't think it is really pre-Judges Guild.  That particular piece of artwork was used in a couple editions of this publication, as the cover and as an innner cover...it was also picked up and used elsewhere at least once.

From Journal 20, page 64 there is an ad for Final Frontier..was this to be released through Judges Guild or did another company put this out?

Almost looks like it could have been a mock up for Imperial Infantry box set (though Final Frontier is said to contain metal figures). No mention of Star Trek.

yeah i think i was just comparing it to the items on page 13 and star trek kinda came to mind. it deo didnt turn into a JG item tho. the only reference i can find to it, and i THINK that this IS it:

Final Frontier | Board Game | BoardGameGeek

would kinda make sense and the timing is about right c.1980

I'm sure someone has asked this before, but here goes.

Lawrence Schick has the following entry in his bible.

World Map Set

Campaign setting: a laminated set of all 18 Wilderlands maps.

Judges Guild, 1982.

Was he wrong? Does this product exist?

I seen that too, but find it odd that Judges Guild would laminate there maps. (Cost issue). Though it would be around the time all the Value Packs were being released.

Someone may just have laminated the maps and he acquired them or was told about them..who knows

i also thought about that. i find it very hard to believe that JG would have done that. the exercise would have been very expensive and i have NEVER seen a map like that. if that was the case, terry would have had at least SOME of them at some point, which as far as i am aware, he didnt, so i dont think that was the case.

i COULD believe that maybe there was an 18 map set though. as with the packs, it would make perfect sense, as there was so much overstock of the maps.
