Since I have borrowed a scanner I've been slowly getting all the little things scanned in and came upon one thing recently that has prompted this query.

The I maps (I-1 to I-5) seem to come in two shades (a light and dark cream/yellow whatever color..er colour :) ). Does one predate the other?

Also I have an I-4 (lighter one) that has no label that it is I-4, so does this come later, with something else, etc?

Lastly I-5, comes with and without the thunderhold map on the reverse, are there any differences with any I-5s other then that (and possibly the light/dark tone of paper)?

ShaneG.

p.s. I really need those scans for the items bold faced in the list...Dungeoneers 1 to 7, tac cards, white booklet I esp. Thanks.

Another question regarding #118 Sword of Hope.

Printing: (19??) Has 'Official adventure approved for Dungeons & Dragons' on cover with item # and price in yellow box.

Printing: (1980) Has 'Created and approved for use with Advanced Dungeons & Dragons' on cover with item # and price in small print at the bottom. A sticker covers the word 'Advanced' and instead states 'Judges Guild fantasy specialists'

What is the (c) date for the first stated print and what is the highest # in the Booty List/Treasure Vault?

Edit: Well #119 Tower of Ulission has ad for #118 to come out in Dec 1979. (so does this match the 1st stated print above?)

Thanks,

ShaneG.

hey chummer

i have a sword of hope (well actually loads of em):

its "official adventure approved for dungeons and dragons" - yellow box above that to the right with "118 / $3"

inside its (c) 1980.

treasure vault at the back however goes up to 420 unknown gods.

so it looks more like your first option sorta but not the second one and its not AD&D btw

if u want me to scan here then i will

Al

shane

didnt know if you had this one, so supplying the info while i am looking at it:

#96 treasury of archaic names

i have a 2nd print with the blue cover - it says (c) 1979 on the inside of the cover, but the treasury vault at the back shows the following:

universal: 700 restormel

D&D: 420 unknown gods

AD&D: 750 illhiedrin book

traveller: 720 rogue moon of spinstorme

imo that makes the (c) more like late 80/early 81, not 79.....what do you think?

shane

as i am going through them

#102 caverns of thracia 2nd print - also says (c) 1979, but the treasury vault is exactly the same as archaic names as above.

#109 operation ogre - 3rd print - (says 3rd reprint 1981) - treasury vault: highest item #460 the book of ruins. slightly earlier than #102 and #96 2nd prints? which would then make the (c) in the book wrong for the above 2 as well wouldnt it?

beginning to look as if they did a whole batch of 2nd prints about the same time...dont you think?

Those are all 1981s (copies I actually have too)

And it does seem like thats what happened, course when the site is established I'm going to really read through things to put a vast chronological order to everything.

Course I still need to find the dates on Operation Ogre

1st printing: (19??) Product number is integrated in background of cover.

2nd printing: (19??) Product number in yellow square. Ogres pants are White and black.

I'd say 79 and 80, but it being the 1979 Pacificon AD&D official tournament dungeon that had notes on the playing of this tournament published in the Judges Guild Journal 18 could suggest they are possibly both 80.

yeah i think thats the first too, but i know ian has some too, so maybe time for him to pipe in with a few words on this one, especially CSIO too...

Hey Al (or anyone how has this) a question for ya..

I just got my 2nd printing First Fantasy Campaign and it is 96 pages, with some not labeled: first couple and last page (the booty list which goes to 93). The rest are from 1 to 92...Is this how the 1st has its pages labeled?

I can't get to mine ATM, but there is a cover printing difference between the first and second prints of FFC. The first has no price. The second has the price on it IIRC. After these two printings were the 68 page versions.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

My 2nd print FFC has the booty list on page 93 but no page number. It has the cover price of $7.98.

My 1st print has a much less elaborate (and shorter) booty list on page 93, but no page number. It also has no price on the front cover.

I also have a 3rd or 4th printing with no price on the front cover and only about 68 pages.

That might not cheer up Al; Judges Guild Questions • Page 9 • Judges Guild •  The Acaeum

thx. What's the highest booty list number on the 1st print FFC and is there anything else to confirm that is the first print?

(For some reason, the 1st, 3rd and 4th have no cover price? :?:)

As the 1st and 2nd prints are both 92 pages long, it may well be the case that the one with the large print price on the cover is the 1st and the one without is the 2nd print.

This would make more sense, also, as the cover then only changes design once.

Further, upon closer inspection, the one with the big cover price has no catalogue designation on the cover. All the others say JG37 to the left of the bottom block of text.

This would ring true with other printing and reprints of other products.

Does this make more sense?
