BTW, that Dark Tower picture he is using is the exact same picture used by another seller who's auction just ended a few days ago:

Picture and item description. :(
Well I may just have to ask the winner then for confirmation/scans.

Maybe not... He ended his auction early:
cgi.ebay.com/AD-D-DARK-TOWER-FANTASY-GA ... dZViewItem

Reason given is "error in minimum bid or Reserve amount."

Seller of the original auctions I contacted got in touch with ebay :D

Side note and not a question but some recent discoveries (course i do wish to know if that darktower was legit-as I doubt the fabrication of the booty list answer given me)
Anyway..couple things: D.D. Crow RARE: Individual Cards | eBay is a RevisedCSIO 1st print with #59 highest in booty list (buyer is going to try and get me scans of cover which looks exactly like the 2nd print, and booty list page)

D&D Miniatures Giant | eBay is actually the 2nd print. Seller told me the highest # in the booty list, plus the fact that the wording on the cover 'Created For & Approved for Use With Dungeons & Dragons' matches the 3rd print.
so #93 looks like this:
1st printing: (1979) black border around cover. States ‘Designed & Approved for Use Especially with Dungeons & Dragons' along with a large white '#93' and price on cover. (booty list goes to 93)
2nd printing: (1980) white border around cover. States ‘Created For & Approved for Use With Dungeons & Dragons' along with a large white '#93' and price near the bottom left corner. (booty list goes to 180)
3rd printing: (1980) black border around cover. States ‘Created For & Approved for Use With Dungeons & Dragons' along with a small '93' and price on cover. (booty list goes to 460)

I just won a minor auction for a first edition Survival of the Fittest....

Is there a need for me to send in scans of its cover and Booty List?

The withdrawl of that Dark Tower auction angered me.

I was not hoping to win, but I was participating with a long-shot auction snipe.

I think the seller withdrew the item because he felt the bids were not high enough.

That seems to go against the rough-and-tumble risk that everyone is supposed to take in an Ebay auction.  If a seller can simply make up an "error" and withdraw his item, that seems to me to give him an unfair advantage.

I tried to complain to Ebay about it, but all I could find was a convoluted complaint system that led me to nowhere.

How do I skip that and just Email Ebay?

I believe he lost that auction because he took the phot and description from another auction. Now he has reposted the white bordered #93 with his own photo, so not to certain why he's not done the Dark Tower one. (course someone may have asked for a BIN - though I hope then that person pms me the various info I ask for   )

ShaneG.

Tip on complaining to Ebay: Turn to the nearest wall, voice your complaint, wait for a good response. Its the same with Ebay..you won't get a great answer.

I really just wanted to do something to put a black eye on that seller.  Impossible to give him feedback when he withdraws his sale.

Got me thinking..and well having to ask..what magazines not put out by JG are there that either have a JG list, story, article about JG, etc. This is the first instance I've seen outside of the Journals, etc. (Course I could check my Dragon archive for any ref.)

There are reviews of almost all the JG items, as well as JG adverts in White Dwarf. I believe some interviews as well. Why not pick up one of those White Dwarf Archives on eBay. The first 10 years should be all you need. :D

Steve Marsh also writes about Judges Guild in his newsletter Analect #4, a small circulation amongst the up and coming games designers in 1977. That must pretty much mark the dawn of Judges Guild, possibly the first mentionings of a fledgling company on the grapevine as it were.

That's on eBay too.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

Question regarding #37 First Fantasy Campaign.

1st Printing: (1977)

2nd Printing: (1979) (c) 1977 Booty List goes to 93

3rd Printing: (1980) (c) 1977 Booty List goes to 380

Does anyone have one (c) 1978 or a Booty List other then the 2 listed? (I need the one for the 1st print also)

(c)1977 only. Highest booty list number = 39 (35 plus "new non-sub items" to 39 in footnote).

No probs, Shane. :)

NM throughout, but cost a dollar more than the 1st Wilderlands of High Fantasy ($22 vs $21).

(Thought I'd throw that in, aside, if you're keeping tabs of prices).

I am not planning on keeping tabs on prices, though if anyone wants to be in a JG Valuation Board I'd be happy to include all the G to NM prices in the future.

Course the Keltic71 site does have some prices on it...

Hell..Anyone want to be the slave..er aide in compiling all the prices per grade, etc?

Have already tried to steer away from the somewhat contentious (to some people) Acaeum stb-eBay led model for various reasons.

Indicative "valuations" in relatively few grades should be fairly easy to reach consensus on, even with interested parties pulling in all directions.

A lot less hassle for all, I'd've thought.

right i am well behind with all this shit - been sticking stuff on our website so busy busy busy:

all the CSIO's i have are:

(c) 1977, 6th edition reprint 1981, booty list goes up to: 700 restormel, 710 amycus probe

(i have two of these apparently)

(c) 1978, booty list goes up to: 59 Village Book 1

and of course the little A5-ish sized one, (c) 1976, booty list goes up to:

14 Ready Ref Charts Package 2.99 /

subscription items (items from instalment J received by guildmembers) 15 Thunderhold / Sunstone Caverns Map 1.00 , 16 Guideline Booklet J 2.00 , 17 Dungeon Levels J 1-4 0.50 / Thunderhold Instalment items 15 through 17 3.00

so thats CSIO that i have.

as for First Fantasy Campaign, i have two copies of that:

(c) 1980, 64 pages, booty list: 360 laser tank / 320 book of treasure maps II, 350 darthanon queen / 260 portals of torsh / 380 duck pond (the items are split into sections)

(c) 1977, 93 pages (booty list included as a page), booty list is as follows - i have included a picture, as i can't be arsed typing it all out :D

Image

hope this all helps some with whatever youre up to :)

yeah, that's the one here (1st print, presumed, unless there are any other minor variations).
