I have no idea if something like this exists in any form - but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Somewhere, at some point, vector (scalable) graphics of the faction symbols must have existed, in some TSR art department computer, or something. Surely they would have ended up in the hands of Black Isle for working on PS: Torment.

I think I may have asked on the PS mailing list many years ago, but does anyone happen to have the faction symbols in vector format?  It's a pretty esoteric question, even in these parts, but no harm in askin'.

I guess technically there could be legal issues or similar - in which case, forget I ever asked!  :)

Thanks,

Z

Probably there are legal issue, meaning the symbols are copyrighted and you are not allowed to use them or make derivative copies of them in any form. Apart from this, you can always vectorize an image using Inkscape; it's not particularly easy at first, but it works very well. I'm also sure there are other programs which do it, but probably they are not free software.

I've considered trying to vectorize them, but unless manually trace something into a vector format, it usually looks awful, no matter how much tweaking you do.  Sounds like the only answer might be hours & hours in Illustrator.  :(
