I see that even after dozen of years, the same problem remains... The ones who love Amiga do not like Commodore, and conversely :)

I played Defender of the Crown on the Amiga until my eyes bled.  There were some other great things about it but that particular game stands out for me.  8)

The very first RPG related video game I remember playing is Waydor, on Spectrum. But impossible to find any screenshot :(

Hi,

theres the Adventure Game, on mainframes before PCs existed.

After that, the Hobbit and Valhalla on the Spectrum.

Cheers,

Never heard of it....but that's no surprise since no one I knew had a ZX Spectrum.  MobyGames doesnt even have a listing for it.  I did a Google search and found several sites with ROM files for Waydor though.  And I am sure someone has made a Spectrum emulator to run it.

I was looking for it and tried to find an emulator (and the game since I sold most of my old computers long time ago) but never succeed... :(
Actually, it is not a big loss, thinking about it.... I am not sure I would like to play to it...
I am nearly sure that it was the 1st real RPG video game. You had to type everything you wanted you character do. For movement and for actions. And even to converse with other characters you encountered. But the code didn't work really well and it was nearly impossible to do what you want to do, when you want to do it :(

OT but if anyone is looking for the classics NetHack, Temple of Apshai Trilogy, or the original Bard's Tale series for the PC, I've got them.

I've got others that I've collected over the years before they became extinct.

Shoot me a PM with what you are looking for and I'll see what I can do.

Not sure on the collectibility of the Star Frontiers minis, but here's two boxes in original shrink. They're labeled with "Gamma World" in the auction title

These are very common and should go in the $5-7 range

Games can get you through times of no money but money can not get you through times of no games!!

I knew the player's kit for Walker in the Wastes was rare - and was going to bid on this one myself.  But it went a little high for me

Yeah, that one was definitely helped by the player's kit... I'd say around $100 for just the adventure.  Sound about right?

Yes, for a MINT copy (and it looked sharp in the pic).  The kits have gone for $100ish or more in the past too, although obviously they can vary widely as do other rare Pagan Publishing items. ...  :D
