Agreed re. volume 1 but I'm not sure where they all went, Mark, since these did turn up not /that/ infrequently bitd, except for volume 4. OK, slightly less common than Heroes, perhaps, but not much rarer than No Honour in Sathporte no sooner had that been released(!) and more frequently seen than the likes of Victorian Adventures (nice snag last year, Géraud), the Warwick Supplements or Quests for Adventurers. Rarity would've varied depending on where in the UK and which shop you were in, of course.

Production values weren't exactly high which probably hasn't helped in the intervening years - volume 2 tended to "shred" and volume 3 had an edge-binding - like 1e Reaper - which caused more damage than it was worth. Someone smartly removed that from the copy you just picked up.

And there's a second-hand section I've been missing out on all these years.  

I don't recall ever having seen an advertisement of Bifrost on the pages of Dragon magazine, for example.
