Ever notice that (according to book cover art) one of the main goals of evil wizards seems to be to chain up beautiful women?

And, the warriors always seem to be trying to get them loose...?

What's with that?

I suspect its the only way that incredibly wealthy wizards can get their hot girlfriends to stop bothering them so they can get some spell research done.

You see..now...that's my point! An evil wizard with lacivious designs on a beautiful woman would dress her in lingerie, not chains. He would enchant her and charm her and stuff, rather than lock her in his evil-atorium.

I think that chains are just an excuse. He wants the beautiful woman around but he doesn't actually want to interact with her.

If he's a 3.0/3.5 wizard he probably has to make a concentration skill check every time his girlfriend starts to bug him. It would play hell with his research!

And in this set, the critter or head in the bottom right looks fairly Lovecraftian, so I'm guessing most of the sets are mixed up to varying extents:
