My set went for £18 over here just last week, so perhaps the Acaeum effect hasn't kicked in fully yet...

This is one for players, not collectors. Unlike RAR, people buy this cos they're gonna run it. enthusiast money always seems lower than collector money and at this time of year there are way too many 'cons to plan and save those dollars for. Whilst the collector market rises and falls over the year, the entusiast market follows a very similar curve, only the peaks and troughs are much more pronounced.

It's a bad time to sell if your market is the gamer and not a fellow collector. It's a good time to buy if you're an investor, a collector or a reseller. That's certainly a lot I'd have picked up if I'd seen it. I'm just a little distracted with Battletech right now.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

Had to go out tonight, but this was just freaking ridiculous. Nobody snapped this up or at least upped the bid?

If I had seen that listing before it ended I would have slipped in a higher bit myself.
Kinda glad I missed out though since I have two sets already and one extra R1 as well... Dont need 3 sets plus TWO extra R1s...
Despite the bad maps and other troubles, they are a good series of adventure modules... even if they are 3rd edition.

Do not let the E-Bay shops fool you, with high starting bids and high BINs... R1 and R2 are as common as dirt and both together are lucky to get a seller $5 (USD).
And even though R3 is harder to find, it still wont normally go for over $15-$20 (USD) alone.
As complete sets, I have seen them sell for under $30-$35 quite often on E-Bay for years in fact.
BOTH of the sets I have were purchased at less than $35 for each set and that was while the Acaeum effect was going STRONG here and R3 was being reported as exceedingly rare.
Now I feel that rarity was greatly exagerated myself.
These sets pop up WAY too often for me to believe that hype anymore.
I still believe that R3 is not as common as the others, but it is not as rare as is commonly thought to be.

Even so, that listing ending at just $10.50 was very low for the set, plus an extra R1 (Worn out as it was).

In part I agree with mbassoc2003.

These are more for Players than for collectors.

I think you did well enough getting £18 for a set of R1-3....

What is that? About $25 (USD)?

Especially considering what mbassoc2003 said.

RAR and CZ:UW are quite deffinately out of reach of all but the most dedicated DM. Deffinately only for the collectors now. But R1-R3 is a good babsis for a campaign, and R3 I think still has a core value of about £20 ($30), so I wouldn't be letting R3 go for below that price. I just couldn't let them go unsold at £18 and I'm happy to sit on them for a while.

NG could release their whole product line for 4E and/or Pathfinder, and knock a good 40% off of the resale values of these mind you. But then, if it were that simple, BW wouldn't be screwing around with gamers over on Dead Frog Games or whatever he called it.

I snagged those.

I have had Riddle Rooms 3 for a long while and occasioannly looked for the first two but never seriously tried to compete with others for them.

I saw that listing during a general fantasy RPG search and placed a bid.

I actually got them a good deal cheaper than I thought I would. :)

That snipe site would never work for me, she would laugh in my face if I even asked... :(
