The discussion on the Thieves World box got me wondering:

Did anybody ever have/see a copy of this Chaosium boxed set where the Science book had a cardstock cover?

I know the copy I sold TheHistorian the other month had cardstock covers on the Player and Gamemaster books (IIRC -- correct me if I'm wrong, Steve), but a paper cover on the Science book, and every other one I've seen has been the same.

So, has anybody?

No, mine had (sold it long ago) paper covers on all of the books. I always thought it was a rather shabby product from a physical quality standpoint. It seemed like everything else out of Chaosium around that time had cardstock covers.

EDIT: I misunderstood the question, initially. Yes, my Science book had a "paper cover" (I would have termed it "no cover"), while the other books had a very, very thin glossy cover.

Egads!  Secrets of my collection revealed!   8O

My guess is that they'd all have paper covers because that book is so thin.

Mine is the same as yours. Cardstock on the two main books and paper cover on the Science book.
