This lot made me smile.  And it arrived with a letter signed by Steve Jackson, with notes about changes already made and ones that were intended before publication.

Nice to see those again, thanks. :)
Manuscript notes or otherwise, per the previous one up for sale some time back?

Looks like same version.  I have both books though and what appear to be the letter and three sheets the playtesters were supposed to fill out.  The introduction notes that the name GURPS  was originally a joke until they found a real name but it stuck, lol.  No pencil notes in this one from the playtester.

I have never played Gurps, so I don't know.  I buy some things that I expect are inspired by or in response to d&d as go alongs with the collection.  Especially, if the price seems reasonable or low.  The acknowledgments seem to go out of their way to avoid mentioning d&d.  Other games are mentioned as inspiration.  Dunno if this was a legal issue, or ego, or what.  I do like what I read online about the influence of this on attribute points, as apparently this system heavily influenced the alternate advancement systems in some of the MMORPG's like Everquest.  As I was an avid EQ player, that adds to the interest of this for me.
