Just wondering, who are the experts on particular games;? Eg. Call of Cthulu, MERP/Rolemaster, Runequest, Traveller, Warhammer, and so on. Feel free to point out the expert individuals for each game!

Hi,

do you mean experts on this board?

Cos the real experts for each of those games don't come here.
ie a cthulhu expert would hang out at yog-sothoth, not here.

There is a bit of cross-over, but most ppl can only really afford the time/money/intellectual investment to become obsessed by one game....

Red Bus knows about Cthulhu tho :)

Cheers,
Malc

Yes, I meant the experts on this board. Thanks for helping to clarify the question.

I didn't mean that I'm after all that stuff, rather that it could be a useful thread for those looking for experts (on this board) for particular games.

If you have questions about the history of Runequest there is a Q&A thread with Greg Stafford.

For questions about Call of Cthulhu lawrenson is correct about yog-sothoth.com
They are focused on the CoC products and have many very experienced people who can answer almost any question you might have.
It is also a forum where many of the game developers post on a regular basis and are willing to answer questions.
All "flavors" of CoC is covered including Chaosium, Pagan Publishing, Trail of Cthulhu, Miskatonic River Press, etc.

Paul (PaulofCthulhu) is a member here... he runs yog-sothoth..

I'm sure a lot of us have some experience in all the game system listed (and then some;)

Brette:)

D&D is an easy one...
Mars knows about all the stuff not published by TSR.
Plaag knows about all the Judges Guild stuff.
And the board is awash with people who know about the TSR stuff.
Beasterbrook is the fanzine guy. Pretty much all fanzines for most systems.
Serleran who is our link to the world of Castles & Crusades.
Faro knows a lot of the most strangest things about TSR's arcane history.
Badmike has a fair handle on the US reseller market.
And the big game hunters, the real money men in the collecting world; Well mostly they lurk unseen in the shadows of the board andonly occasionally do you see one pop up.

We also have Grodog, our resident Greyhawk guru, and now a publisher. And of course Frank Mentzer and Rob Kuntz who grace these pages when time permits.

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

That one has always been my favorite.

I'll claim expert knowledge of Pendragon and Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay (WFRP).

Also strongly knowledgeable on Cyberpunk and Warhammer Fantasy Battle (but I do have a lingering question on the latter, so if someone is/knows of a WFB expert, I'd love to chat).

Nice list....

And of course (as stated above) Traveller was an easy one...

And the other web sites mentioned above are also excellent resources for that specific system...

A bunch of excellent help above.... Exactly (I think) what was asked for.

I sell a lot of fantasy, dark future and horror miniatures, but I wouldn't call myself an expert.  There are many people who know more than me. 8)

I used to be a go-to guy for Metagaming/The Fantasy Trip/Space Gamer knowledge. Probably not so much, anymore, as I've been out of that loop since probably 2004 or so.

But I'd be happy to try to answer any questions.

I'd say James Mishler is the Judges Guild guy.  If you wanted to include me, then maybe I'm the product/printing guy and he's the more on the history side.  We also have Bill Owen on here, another history of the Judges Guild company type.
I can help with some d20 companies.
