Monsters! was first published by Metagaming (Steve Jackson) and then it was published by FBI for Tunnels & Trolls. In a sense, I see Steve Jackson's Fighting Fantasy books as competition for FBI Tunnels & Trolls solo adventures so its interesting that they share a common product. I guess it could be at a time before they were really in competition though.
