What is the website for Free RPG Day?  I thought it was www.freerpgday.com, but that did not work, unless there are some technical issues?

Looks like they may owe their hosting company some money.
It was up in April but it has been a few weeks since I looked at it.

Edit: The site is indeed www.freerpgday.com
(you put a comma after the .com)

That is the correct URL.

Could be a technical issue.  Or maybe someone forgot to pay the hosting bill.

[Edit: WHOIS indicates that TLG owns the domain name.  Someone ring the Trolls . . . ]

On the web-site, it indicates that these are going to be the items included for each retailer:
Publisher Level Item Box Total
Chessex     Bronze      Commerative Dice 4
Claymore Entertainment    Bronze   Hero's Bane Quickstart & Adventure 4
Exile Game Studios    Bronze       Hollow Earth Expedition Adventure 4
Fantasy Flight Games     Platinum       Rogue Trader RPG Adventure 15
Goodman Games      Gold      4th Edition Hero's Handbook 15
Lone Wolf      Silver      Hero Lab demo w/ unique data files 7
Mongoose      Gold       The Troubleshooter Reference Manual 15
Mongoose     Silver      Introduction to Dragon Warriors 7
Mongoose      Bronze       Corporation: Grab the Cache 4
Paizo     Gold      Pathfinder Bonus Bestiary 15
Q-Workshop      Gold      Unique Dice 14
Troll Lord Games     Silver      C&C Quickstart and Adventure 4
White Wolf     Gold      Geist RPG Quickstart 15
Wizards of the Coast     Platinum      "Khyber's Harvest", Eberron 4E Adv. 22

What do you anticipate are going to be the most wanted items?

In my opinion, nothing looks all that great this year.  No DCC adventure from Goodman. :(   I will take a guess that the two most sought after items will be the Eberron adventure and the Rogue Trader adventure.  I have no idea what Mongoose's Dragon Warriors is but it may prove interesting.

I would guess the WotC offering will be hot again this year just because it is from WotC.  Especially since it doesn't appear as though the first 4E Eberron supplement comes out til June 16th (2 weeks prior to Free RPG Day).

Looks pretty weak this year to me, too.

I'd say Wizards of the Coast "Khyber's Harvest", Eberron 4E Adv. 22 will be most popular by a mile

Troll Lord Games Silver C&C Quickstart and Adventure may be 2nd, with a push from the Grog Squad

Those are also probably what I'll choose between (my store has a limit of 1 and I'm not going to go chasing around for more) -
Eberron for curiosity about 4E and a setting I know very little of.
C&C because I may want to play it at GaryCon sometime and don't know the ruleset at all.

Dragon Warriors is a revised version of the mid-80s series of RPG books by Corgi; had/has a bit of a cult following, especially in the UK.  The Wikipedia article on it's kinda crap, but it's a start anyway: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragon_Warriors

My guess as to what will be in demand:
Fantasy Flight Games     Platinum       Rogue Trader RPG Adventure 15
Paizo     Gold      Pathfinder Bonus Bestiary 15
Wizards of the Coast     Platinum      "Khyber's Harvest", Eberron 4E Adv. 22

Geist RPG Quickstart might be in demand, but White Wolf has made a habit of releasing the quickstarts for free as PDFs around the same time -- so who can tell. (I believe they change the adventure in the PDF, so as to get around the "must not be released elsewhere for X amount of time" restriction that I recall existing.)

I would think the Bonus Bestiary, if not produced anywhere else (ie, added to a print work) will be sought after. PF has a gathering of fans, at least on the internet.

Collectible wise the WotC offering. Course I'm sure the Chessex dice maybe for those not wanting to touch 4e.
Paizo's offering will be available for sale for a limited quantity after the event.
Troll Lord's maybe the same as previous years but a different adventure at the end of it.

Some of those I'd have to Google to know what the heck they are.

Does it seem like the number of gamestores offering Free RPG Day are down this year?

It doesn't look like either of the two who participated last year in my area are doing so this year.

Peanut gallery predictions: The WotC adventure will get the most money.  The Goodman 4E supplement or the Paizo Pathfinder will be second, followed by a distant C&C Quickstart.

The Chessex dice will be the hardest to get, as the store will want to keep them.  The Q-Workship dice will be hard (impossible?) to get as a complete set.

Question is....are you going to travel back to the DFW area that weekend and drive to every game store in the metroplex to see if you can get a box full of stuff?

It's a shame that the Polymancer item was canceled.  I was looking forward to seeing what they would put out.  That probably would have been the big prize for me.

Right now it looks like I will try and find the C&C one afterwards somewhere.

Definitely is down this year.  The ones I know of that previously participated in my area aren't, but it's probably unsurprising given how much stuff they had left over afterward last time.
