I am looking at a long overdue update to Aftergow2.com, and one of the things I think is missing there is an indication of rarity and value (auction history).

To help, I thought I'd pose the following two questions....

1. What 5 non-TSR products are highest on your want list?

2. What 5 non-TSR products that you own, are your favourites?

This week I've been mostly eating . . . The white ones with the little red flecks in them.

You used to have quite a collection, IIRC. I remeber selling you Whay Price Glory?! back in 2004ish. Was any of your collection nonTSR?

Are we limiting this to D&D-related only?

Its tough to limit this to only 5 so here's a bunch:

WANTS:

Red Book of Nal & Sword & Shield
Dungeon Encounters
Curse Undying
E'A
Tower of Elbrith
Tome of The Telekinetic Mage
The Heart of Evil
Xantree series
Keltek: Servant of Stawitchi
The Piracy of Su Fang Choi
Witchery in Elcaro
Lord Farrick's Keep
Fortress Magoloth
Tri-Tac adventures - Krish Home, Gem Sword, Tarot Quest, etc

HAVES:

Uncle Ebenezer's Will (Metro Detroit Gamers)
Islandia Campaign
Tradervale (Fantasy Systems)
House Rules for the World of Nimolee
DC1 The Ruins of Quinstead
Lair of the Medusa (DELF)
Ysgarth 3rd ED, 4th, 4th+, 5th, 6th + adventures (Ragnarok Enterprises)
Starstone (Northern Sages)
The Serpent of Me'Tal
Mindbane
Bad Moon
Seren Ironhand
The Rescue of Ardene
Complete Midkemia Press lineup
CDM series boxed sets 1-5 (Integrated Games)
Mythworld (hippogriff Publications)
Beasts, Men & Gods

I should probably also mention Entertainment Concepts Inc but off hand I don't remember what I have and what I need but they fall into both categories.

Oh and Creature Creation by Fugitive Games - its a great book too :)

- Mercury Games' two titles (Lair of the Spider Mother, Lord Farrik's Keep) and poster; I once owned a prepub of LotSM but traded it to Mike Kuo (with some other stuff, for a WoM, so I'm still content with the trade :D )
- Hess Games/Charibyds Games
- Wee Warriors
- Claymore Games
- Treasure of the Dragon Queen
- Grenadier Bulletins and poster I don't own (one got lost some years ago in a basement flood, I think it was teh Wizard one, but I had both the Wizard and the Fighter at one point)

These favorites due to content and utility in a game, rather than their collectability, per se:

- Chaosium Thieves World box set/Companion, FASA adventures, and Green Ronin d20 titles
- RJK's Creations Unlimited and PPP tomes
- Midkemia Press titles
- WotC's Primal Order series
- Starstone, Embertrees (from WD), and the other article from SA#17[/url]

If we go beyond D&D then "Courting Madness" for CoC by Pagan Publishing trumps everything on my want list, with the possible exception of "Treasure of the Dragon Queen" :D

I can't narrow it down to 5, as there are simply too many things I have yet to get. :(

But, some of my favorite non-TSR items are:

The Necromican
Beasts, Men and Gods
Arduin Trilogy 1st Prints and Arduin Grimoires 1st Prints
Castle Perilous
City State of the Invincible Overlord 1st Print

and that's not counting Warhammer stuff, since I was trying to keep to D&D related.

Those who can, don't. Those who should not, do.

I forgot about that one - I thought it was pretty good.

6. DawnWorld (Traveller adventure)

That is one that I want too - I think it might be generic rather than Traveller.  Have you seen one other than the recent auction?  I'm still pooped about losing that one :(  I need to follow up some leads on it after Easter.

Ouch! One of my pet peeves is a black background, it's so hard on my poor eyes! I hope putting it to something friendlier is on your to-do list.

Other than that, it looks like a very interesting site, and if I find ways to contribute, I will. It looks like it has a rock-solid foundation of information.

Well, thanks for the input, Eryops.
I'll try to go for something bland but textured. I want to lose the frames as well and try for a single page thing.

There's not a heck of a lot I haven't had at some point over the years, and I don't really collect anymore. I've always been partial to digest-sized books like Farrick and DG.
One item of note that serleran mentioned: I think Beasts, Men and Gods is a SUPERB product, and pretty rare. If I had to start over again, it would probably be 2nd on my list. Kalifax would be 1st, of course  :)

If you hit a Rowsdower, you get to keep it.

Yes, Kalifax is good too - no you can't have it back Frank :)  The Panjiatic Omnibus comes to mind now too.  I should really get that list together of what I own.  Going through everything again will refresh my mind on them too.

As I recall there are two editions of Kalifax. The single pre-pub product that Frank and Mars are talking about, sold at a Con', and a subsequent two part afair, a shorter version of Kalifax pre-pub and a little suppliment?

Can anyone clarify this alternate edition?

Favorite List:

1.  Starstone (probably the best stand alone generic ever!!!)
2.  Midkemia series (quite overlooked, these were very detailed and well written)
3.  Islandia (Companions) series (Best written non D&D/TSR items ever published)
4.  Tabletop Warriors (Great example of a home brewed OD&D campaign)
5.  Gryphon's Legacy (ok, it's 3.0, but not TSR/WOTC, and written by the incomparable Wolfgang Baur. My favorite post-2000 item so far)
6. Rappan Atthuk (best post TSR megadungeon)
7.  Bottle City (Great historical backstory, and a really challenging adventure, very old school)
8. Castle Zagyg (box) (If this had been released 25 years ago it would be considered one of the classic dungeons ever)
9. Dark Tower & Caverns of Thracia (Best non-TSR D&D titles ever, by Paul Jaquays)
10.  Whoops, that's already too many!!!

I believe they are the same edition.  But in addition to the large stack of main book pages, and map pack and adventure pack were available.
